Oh yes the 2M62. Is there any country in Eurasia where this powerhouse doesn't drive? :D

 

I dreamed to mod two Mintrix models of the GDR BR 120 to make a 2M62 model (to tow Orient Express cars "somewhere in central Asia") but even 2nd hand Mtx stuff is way too expensive.

Yes, but only modernised... with caterpillar engines. But still our neighbour Latvia has original units, aprox. 30 of 2M62s are still in service, but modernization has begun also there...

I see. Guess that's the reason the exhausts do not smoke so much. Videos of old Russian or Soviet 2M62s are fun to watch, especially starting them... looks almost if they're coal fired. ;)
