Thank you for sharing those photos! Amazing! While the cable car looks totally different and carried somewhat like the colour of the romance car, all others seems pretty much the same; owakudani, and the pirate ship. I think I saw this pirate ship parked on the port when I did my trip! Wow the ship is over 20 years old! Link to comment
railsquid
I wonder how old those pirate ships are... I'm beginning to think they were left behind by the Spanish, Portugese or British in the early Edo period... 1 Link to comment

I can't believe it.They still have one of the old pirate ships. Wow! I was disappointed that they did not have a walking the plank routine or firing the cannons sequence when we sailed!! I mean motored!! Link to comment
JR 500系
Let's carry on a VERY long overdue post, shall we? Day 7 - Hakone to Osaka This leg of the journey wasn't very exciting, as a lot of initially planned activities were cancelled once again due to rain, like the Sagano Railway... Anyhow, first up is a trip to Odawara, for a shinkansen to shin-Osaka (initially planned for Kyoto for the Sagano railway but changed and decided to check into hotel first...) Our initial ticket.... Here comes our ride! a common N700... I simply love Green cars! Simply to be highlighted again, while we stopped at Nagoya (I think if I recall correctly), I bent down to pick up something that dropped to the floor and 'ZOOM' the usual shinkansen zooming past sound was heard... Then my Mrs said, something yellow just zoomed past... I immediately bend up and caught a tiny glimpse like a fraction of a second of its nose... Are we in luck? Is that the doctor?? So we reached Shin-Osaka station, and while alighting, guess who is waiting at the platform?? BOOM! Technically, it wasn't waiting, but it was about to leave... I did manage to catch it leaving the station: I cannot tell you how happy I am! Finally I caught it, in person! :) Moving on, we rode on a 321 series to Osaka station, from Shin-Osaka station. Then transferred to a 201 series, the Osaka Loop line, to Kyobashi, where our hotel is... Kyobashi station ~ Collected our room keys and breakfast coupon at Kyobashi Keihan hotel... Why is it called Keihan hotel? I just realised it is a paradise for Keihan lovers! The view from our room was quite amazing! Keihan trains coming in and out! Nice! Going for a walk... We stumbled upon this outside the station gates... Wonderful smell! And they taste super! You have to grabbed them if you are at Kyobashi station! Then our simple dinner at Matsuya: I have to say, Matsuya is really good value, giving a tasty meal at a good price, and no Japanese is required to order! Finally, we visited Umeda Yodabashi, one of the largest electrical store in Osaka... They have a totally dedicated 4th floor all for hobbies and toys, so needless to say we headed straight for it! Unfortunately, there were signs all around the store stating no video or photos allowed, so I couldn't take any... The range was REALLY good and the staff was very kind to actually tell me to use my passport for Tax free and also MasterCard as they are having a 7% off for using MasterCard transections for amount above 10000yen. All in all, I saved greatly on this baby: Which I have been eyeing for a long time! Happy! Lugging my huge win at Yodobashi back to our hotel, we saw at Osaka platform: A cute station staff, and in the background, I think it was a 381 series Kuroshio... And the 281 series Haruka ~ Nice day at Osaka area! Tomorrow, we will be heading to the Nagoya Meglev museum, and I am sure excited! Edited March 22, 2016 by JR 500系 2 Link to comment
