Martijn Meerts
You should be able to just upload images to the gallery on the forum itself, no need for some external service. Link to comment
JR 500系
You know me too well. haha But in all seriousness. Any photos west of Kobe are welcome. We don't see much of anything west of Kobe. But I didn't get much of anything west of Kobe though... Unless you consider Osaka. There were minimal Osaka in this trip as most were covered in V1... There is Hiroshima though, just right before we hit the island of Kyushu ~~ You should be able to just upload images to the gallery on the forum itself, no need for some external service. Indeed, but I wouldn't be able to narrate the story using the photos and wordings below for a nice flow for an easy read... I would need to go like: Please see 3rd picture from left for ..... That wouldn't be very easy to read ~~ :) Link to comment
Martijn Meerts
I think it's possible to add images you uploaded to the gallery directly in a post (using the "My Media" option) .. I haven't actually tried it myself, but might be worth trying :) Link to comment
railsquid
Aha, I never saw that before... I recently found out how to upload to albums (attaching to posts always produces small thumbnails when placing inline) and was adding the image via its URL. Link to comment
JR 500系
Let's continue (finally), shall we? Day 6: Away from Tokyo! We are heading to Odawara Hakone area, via one of my most anticipated train ride, on the Romance Car VSE50000! Tickets! Feeling excited just looking at them! Reported to Shinjuku station in the morning, had quite a hard time as Shinjuku station IS really BIG! Awaiting on the platform, I hear this oh so beautiful chime: https://youtu.be/ibt2QTMwdLU Our train is here! Time to board, but of course not before taking some: Beautiful isn't it? Gotta be one of my favourite private railway trains! Time to get in before we miss this! Edited November 29, 2015 by JR 500系 1 Link to comment

JR 500系
Sounds like my one and only trip to Singapore when I took a sightseeing trip on an open-topped bus which developed its own tidal system. Haha ~ That must have been a bummer. Thinking about another more fruitful trip soon perhaps? :) Bummer about the rain. Indeed. That only makes more reason (that and the hotel) to visit Hakone once more in the next trip~ Moving on still in Hakone: We reached Owakudani! The visitor centre at Owakudani Quite a number of tourist despite the rain, but notice the umbreallas... This explains the amount of tourists... The famed Black eggs cooked by the hot springs! Too bad they were sold out by the time we were there and we couldn't taste them.. Moving on to the river cruise on the 'Pirate ship' Elaborately painted beautiful Pirate ships... seems like we will be taking the red one... On board the ship at its top deck, we can see the observation tower... And a view around the river... Or whatever that is not covered by the rain or the clouds... Final arrival at the port. From here, we will take the Hakone Tozan bus back to Gora to the hotel for our famed fabulous dinner spread! :) *Gourmet readers prepare for the next post with plently of food! :) 3 Link to comment

JR 500系
And here is the most 'delicious' post of our trip, the gourmet spread at Hakone! Tonight, we are having Shabu-Shabu! Simply amazing! Accompanied with some beautiful appetizers! Some fried shrimp and tempura which is REALLY tasty And a full plate of Fresh Sushi Sashimi! Yummy! Last but not least finish off with a nice desert of jelly and ice-cream! Also included is a nice supper, hand-made ramen from 10pm at the hotel... Collect your meal voucher with your room key... A nice tasty ramen that is hand-made! Sugoi! Breakfast is also great! Look at the spread! A nice roasted fish that is so good you can eat it whole with its bones! With a bowl of rice and raw egg... Overall really nice meals and a serene environment of the hotel has marked this hotel a must-return next trip! :) 3 Link to comment

beakaboy
My wife and I did the cruise on a pirate ship and a gondola ride over the sulphur area?? The weather was quite good. Marvellous trip in 1984 or 85? Must get my photo album out and reminisce. I remember getting a barbeque grilled squid on a stick at the jetty before boarding. Delicious! Link to comment
