I'm trying to download it.

Yesterday, I had problems with the other links from the_weird_one for episode 4. Download started but at the end I received an error message each time : download failed because of an unknown network error. Maybe google drive ?

I've tried 4 times without success.

The only one I received successful was episode 3 after 3 attempts. Episode quality is excellent. :)  Very good job, a great pleasure to watch in HD. Thanks a lot the_weird_one !

If they ever re-run the first two episodes, I would have them all in 1920x1080i format, so I could probably create a Blu Ray quality disc... especially as I have a BR writer. :D

 

Unfortunately, the response I got back from NHK World, was that they had no plans to re-run them at this time. :( I go through the full seven day schedule every Sunday, setting up the weeks recordings, so if they appear... I will get them. And if I get them, they will appear on here one way or another.

I didn't find any 1080p episode from these episodes on internet.

Unfortunately too, the other series from NHK that I've downloaded on mp4 (BEGIN JAPANOLOGY for example) are great picture quality, but the movements on the film are not natural, the shaky pictures spoil the pleasure of the viewing. 

The best quality that I get is episode 3 that I have successfully downloaded from by the_weird_one.

A new episode of Train Cruise will air on Saturday April 26.  The theme will be Shikoku.  Please note that it will be shown only 4 times on this date (going by UTC time).  NHK World changed their schedule from a 4-hour block repeated 6 times in a day to a 6-hour block repeated only 4 times.

Excellent...I wil add this to my satellite box tomorrow, so I will definitely have this ready to record. I will record it a couple of times during the day, to make sure I get a decent recording. I can send it to the_weird_one, if he is happy to convert and upload again

Watched the Shikoku ep last night. Was pretty good, it made me even more excited that I own models of a few trains they rode.

 

What's interesting about this series is that they appear to be filming from spots famous for railway fans. I often see these locations on pictures on the internet.

for all japanese trains and lanscapes lovers, I buy every year a blu-ray disc  called "trains of japan on parade" edited by Vicom from Japan. They have many other videos, but this serie brings out a lot of different trains and wonderful landscapes. It's worth the viewing ! Maybe anybody knows about these videos....
