nartak Posted December 9, 2013 Share Posted December 9, 2013 News release from JR East http://www.jreast.co.jp/press/2013/20131205.pdf JR East announced a new name for the new line which is currently on construction between Ueno to Tokyo to make through operation of those Tohoku, Takasaki, Joban and Tokaido line as "UENO-TOKYO Line".The line which used to be called as "Tohoku Jyukan Line". The railtrack will be in operation as of FY2014 end. I assume it will go-live when they update their diagram which usually happen on every March. So it may be sometime in Mar., 2015.Detailed diagram will be announced later. Link to comment

This is going to be awesome and will relief the Shonan-Shinjuku line of trains aplenty. Also a great relief for the Keihin-Tōhoku and Yamanote line on that stretch. Link to comment
