Kamome Posted December 9 Share Posted December 9 Thanks for the advice @Pashina12 The set actually came with a textured base sand colour around the path. But as @cteno4 mentioned, without prior knowledge of the landscape, it doesn’t necessarily tell the viewer what it is, despite it being more appropriately to scale. As it was Tomytec, these were not straight. These base parts seem to get slightly warped whilst in the box which was also true on a couple of fishing buildings I have. There are those 00/H0 modellers where scale has to be precise and they decide on n scale sized ballast rather than their scale relevant product as it would be over scale. I couldn’t say how the 2 compare next to each other. Painted sandpaper may also be a good idea but as the terrain was already textured, it may not have stayed in place on the corners etc.. I opted for the finest ballast I could find locally then painted but actually had to add back in some enamel wash to give in more texture as to me anyway, it didn’t look quite right with natural shadow on something so small. 1 Link to comment
