Hiroden has dismantled several trams this year and last year as new stock arrives. These photos are from a Japanese language blog.

It also talks of the 2000 form demolition of last year (2012).

Go to this web site to get a feel for which cars are which on Hiroden.  http://railstar.sakura.ne.jp/hiroden/hiroden.htm

I guess at some point the trams are just completely worn out. Hiroden is still using a lot of very old stock right?

Hiroden has been called the "rolling museum" of trams with many old trams from dismantled systems from other parts of Japan still running on Hiroden rails. I believe one unit, #652, is very famous because it was one of two units rebuilt some years after the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and is still active on the Hiroden system.
