Railcar drives

Hi all,

 

After posting the Ibara clip, I remembered that sometime ago there was discussion in this forum about the railcars used by some of the 3rd-sector railways (Mooka, Matsuura, etc...) and the fact that they use diesel-mechanical drives (which is why you hear them shift gears) rather than torque converters, a trait shared by at least one class of DMUs in the UK. I think BB evben put a link to a drescription of these drives on the manufacturer's site. Could anyone point out who made these drives and where I can get more info?
