TCS EUN651 problem in a Hobbytrain BR1216

Folks

I tried installing a TCS NEM in a Hobbytrain BR1216  Part number H2721.

I use an NCE Power Cab.

This is my new favorite loco... But.

When I installed it correctly (I think), it couldn'r read the manufacture CV.

When Iturned the board over, it took off like a shot.

The platine board and the motor pickups are isolated from the frame, except where appropriate. I have the decoder packaged for warranty replacement, but thought I'd post here, in hopes of a better Idea. A reset attempt did not work.

Thanks

Can you show us a pic of how the decoder is installed?  Fat square chip should face up.

Try a factory reset and reprogram. Cv8=2 to reset.

thanks skipper, I rechecked before sending it out. I did have that chip up. It couldn't read CV8, but I put a 2 in anyway. Nothing changed.

What's the update KMCSJR?

I recently installed one of these in a FVM GEVO.

The socket is hidden under the shrink wrapped LED leads so I did not see that one of the decoder pins went its own way.

Runs fine now. Speed matched easily.
