miyakoji Posted January 17, 2013 Share Posted January 17, 2013 That's awesome. Good catch of the 7000 series with the shared trucks. Seems like a weight and cost advantage, but it's not popular. JR East has the E331 with that design, but only one 14-car train. Link to comment

Romance cars series 3000, 3100, 7000 and 10000 use. In recent years the techonology was revived for the 50000 series VSE, which I am fan. It's advantage is for tight radii on mountainous routes.
