For the past few days, I have done the followings.

-Got all my turnouts connected and level all the tracks. So glad for the modular shelves with holes!

-Take out all the Fleischmann ICE-T Interior lighting sets since they drained power and speed.

-Photocopied more of the Unitram backdrop to post around the wall.

 

@keiman and cteno, thank you for suggesting another possibilities for glass that is light weight and flexible.  I will further investigate into them.

In the photo of the underside, the trap door for the decoder nook is clearly visible: This train takes the Kato FL12/EM13 decoders, and so is a snap to convert (presuming you are willing to use these decoders, otherwise it could be a little tricky)

 

Anyone find a part number for the trap door/decoder access?

 

So far it looks like one needs to buy the whole chassis. 

 

Piece of styrene and a 12mm Ptouch decoder address label is my last resort if I can't find the part.  :)
