Tokyo Metro 10000 series revenue service begins on Toyoko Line

Service began this past Friday, Sept. 7, with 8 car consists. You will be only able to see these trains at the stub end Shibuya terminal until this early spring, when the line will shift to the underground through station.

Hi bikkuri,

 

I'll be in Tokyo towards the end of October ... I'm not clear about where I'll be able to see the 10000 series.  Can you give me a start and end station?

You'll be able to see them on the regular Shibuya to Motomachi Chukagai (Chinatown) runs and vice versa on the Toyoko Line. Apparently there are four 8 car trainsets of this type assigned to this route.  I don't know the specific runs, but hanging out at the Shibuya Terminal may bag you one without waiting too long.

 

I plan to ride/photograph these units on my winter holiday in January, as well as pay my final respects to the Shibuya Terminal.
