Ver nice framing and restraint from attempting pan and scans! I like how it follows the train thru different scenes.

Yes, that's Nippon Steel's Muroran Plant. 711 series are a mainstay of the Muroran Line between Tomakomai and Higashi-Muroran (where the catenary ends). The scene at 1:04 is quintessentially Hokkaido- a horse farm in the foreground, and that's the volcano Mt. Tarumae in the background.

 

Miyakoji, yep, those kuha's got the center doors sometime after 1987, for faster passenger loading/unloading in the Sapporo commuter zone.  Back then, of course, they were still using 50 series hauled by ED type locos on locals:

The akaden are my favorites, but their days are numbered.  I will be getting out more to ride/photograph them, for sure.
