Asuka Park Rail AKA Asuka-Yama Monorail

Recommended Posts

Traveled along the Shakujii River from Hikawadai Station, Nerima Ward to Oji Station. Very nice Cherry blossoms, even if it's along the concrete canyon calling itself a river.

Here are some photos of the Asaku Park Rail better known as the Asuka-Yama Monorail.

We are at the small bit of red on the right side of the park.

Only one car apparently called the Asucargot running between the two 'stations.' Asucargot because it looks like a snail? asuka + car + escargot?

See this post;

Asuka-yama Monorail

I saw this from a passing train in 2010 and got off to have a look but it was not operating and had what I assume were 'out of order' signs posted on the entrance. I settled for some shots of trams going down the street beside it.

I think that as it is a free service, it would only run on weekends and holidays and during special times like Cherry Blossom season.
