HO Tsunami relief collectors car kit

Every year Boy Scout Troop 964 in Dale City, VA holds a model train show to raise funds for the upcoming year. This year they are donating all of their proceeds to their sister troop in Japan whose equipment was washed away in the Tsunami.

 

To improve on the profits they will be selling HO boxcar kits as well.

 

The kits will be as follows:

    1) 3500 Series 40' Single Door Riveted-Side Boxcar. Paint: CSX Tan  (Custom)

Printed with:

    2) One end of car BSA emblem with American flag the other end is SAJ emblem with Japanese flag.

    3) Powells Creek and Old Dominion logo, and Slogan

    4) 1910 build date and 2012 shop/reweigh date

    5) "When Empty, Return to Dale City, VA"

    6) Car #96412

    7) Reporting marks: WMRC2000.

 

Final web pricing has not been established, but it should be around $24 direct purchase via their web reseller or $27 via eBay. The kits cost them $16 each, so they are not making a lot on this.

 

The attached image shows the two sides of the car.

 

I have told them I will try to help them sell 100 cars on the net beyond their on site sales, this will be enough to complete replacement of the Japanese Troop's tents.
