From the evening news variety program "Bankisha":

*especially interesting is the segment on Jakarta's system, starting at 4:30. The crowding is partly attributed to the relatively relaxed 10 min headways of the system. At 7:15, when asked why Japanese rolling stock is popular, a railway official says that the rolling stock is well built and compared with rolling stock from other countries, doesn't break down. A second hand rolling stock dealer in Japan says it is cheaper to donate the rolling stock than to scrap it in Japan.
