keitaro Posted April 11, 2011 Share Posted April 11, 2011 well after placing my 2 cents in spaceman's thread about kato trains i figured i would ask about this tomix set. been thinking this http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10097848 x 1 or http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10097849 x 1 + http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10097851 x 3 as i'd like to point out kato's -3000 series of this train does not allows for 2 car sets of double decker cars. Does anyone have this or think it will be easy to dcc? Link to comment
The_Ghan Posted April 12, 2011 Share Posted April 12, 2011 Hey Keitaro, Which Kato set were you looking at? 10-594, 10-595, and 10-596? I think it is prototypical and makes the two car set of double-deckers. Maybe I'm missing your point. If you wish to make a non-prototypical consist of multiple pairs of double-deckers then I say go for it. It is your layout, your model, and you should have fun with it as you wish. As for DCC installation, the Kato set is DCC friendly with EM13 and FL12. I don't have experience with the Tomix set. Hope that helps you a little. Cheers The_Ghan Link to comment
keitaro Posted April 12, 2011 Author Share Posted April 12, 2011 yeah i was trying to point out Kato don't allow for that unless you pay an enormous amount for cars u don't want to get enough. it's looking to be for my dcc line on next layout. and dc for now if i buy. Still tossing up on the new sunrise, this, or the kansai rapid when it comes back in stock or re-release from kato. so many choices ... Link to comment
