clem24
Ifbibremember correctly the tomix one did not have all wheel pick up plus no longer on hs. I'd go to the tomix site to confirm but I'm on iPhone ATM The only trains with all wheel pick up are Tomix Shinkansen and 50000 Romance Car. The reason being that these are the only coupling systems that would permit it. I think I've seen it pop up here and there but the Tomix KiHa 181 are based on pretty old molds IIRC. Link to comment

westfalen
I'm sure you can find a few other new releases of interest. I hear the model-train industry in Japan has been known to offer several models a year! ;-) There has been a fair bit of steam era stuff coming out lately to keep my credit card busy. I always thought the 300 series were modelled on upturned bathtubs like these things. 1 Link to comment
KenS
I haven't seen anything about Kato announcements from the Shizuoka show, so I went looking and found these: http://ngi.blog.eonet.jp/photos/20110512_kato/ http://tramo-freight.com/blog01/index.php/archives/3041 None of these really excite me, but perhaps others will find them interesting. Look at some of the pantograph detail on the 813 tooling. Also looks to be body mounted tight couplers, so it could be DCC ready. Link to comment

Nozomi
September 2011! Kato is releasing a model of Tokyo Metro Ginza line. I'm a right that this is the first model of a japanese Metro system vehicle made by Kato? There is some text on HS's product page (I guess automaticaly translated) telling us it's only the first step into this category of trains! I can't wait to see more of Tokyo Metro unique trains! http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10150095 Also there is a new version of the 800 series Shinkanen (now Sakura and Tsubame services). Does anyone know if there will be visible differences from the former model? http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10150093 Thank you for any help! Link to comment
CaptOblivious
Unitram crossover alert! (Also, glad to see the TAKI-1000's getting re-released...want a unit train of those myself...) Link to comment

scott
The 313 is nice; I was wondering when they would release another one. How is this E127 different from the previous Oito Line version (10-582)? Link to comment
westfalen
Crossover and a new tram! The mysterious V51,52 and 53 from the new items page of the 2011 catalog. I can't make out what V52 is but V53 looks like the tram tracks come to a T intersection and continue straight ahead, very interesting. Link to comment
David
The first E127-100 released had a pantograph on the second car (anti-icing), while this one only has a single pantograph, like the E127-0. 1 Link to comment
ToniBabelony
That Ginza Subway 01 Series release looks very promising. I wonder if they'll do a series of Tokyo Metro trains, as the 01 Series isn't far off from the 02 Series from the Maruno'uchi line and the 03 Series from the Hibiya line. Link to comment

to2leo
Yeah no special alteration for Unitram to Unitrack! ( I meant self made...now I can actually get an official one from Kato) Link to comment

U001 from Tomix Kiosk version U002 from Kato "old" logos U003 from Tomix standard splitted box (3+5) U003 from kato "new" logos announced U005 from Tomix limited ed. Ciao Massimo Link to comment

Well I can't blame Kato.... the temptation of making a quick buck is always hard to resist. In the 800 Series Wiki entry I read that there will be some trains with track monitoring and wire/signal testing equipment. I hope that Tomix will complete its range of ‘doctor trains’. In the 800 Series Wiki entry I read that there will be some trains with track monitoring and wire/signal testing equipment. I hope that Tomix will complete its range of ‘doctor trains’. of course, but I don't think for Kato is so hard to change the number from 003 to 006, so I can buy another different Shinkansen. (Ok, of course I buy the new one too, so I can mantain the collection complete) I hate "xerox" policy and until now every Shinkansen released from Tomix or Kato represent different trains so you can collect all without problem. About test trains, the only one already reproduced from Tomix is the U001 and sincerly is the same standard model with different number, I think the difference is only the tecnical equipment and invisible sensor o camera near the panto The other "diagnostic" trains (U007 to U009) require the some modification (see up :-) but if someone would try to handmade one of this, now Jun (plaza) sell the required book http://cgi.ebay.it/ROLLING-STOCKS-KIT-MODELING-TRAIN-MODELING-MANUAL-/250790525648?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item3a6447bad0 .. so, if someone would sell me an old/junk 800 for kitbashing....(I bought this book the past year) ciao Massimo Link to comment
