Yavianice
Small update, I installed TN couplers on the 50625 Green Max (which was harder to do than with Tomix trains because green max are a bit flimsy feeling). Green max does not mess about. Close coupler means REALLY closely coupled, it's by far the closest coupled train I have. The train is just barely even able to go over the 315/282 radii from KATO. I guess there is a reason Green Max does not model the gangway connection, because if it did, it could not take any corner at all. Link to comment
katoftw
What couplers did you use? Tomix does offer some couplers with longer lengths. For example - Tomix 0336 vs 0339 https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10096031 https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10237057 Edited August 1, 2019 by katoftw 1 Link to comment

JR 500系
Greenmax went all crazy with their releases & re-leases recently: Hankyu Series 1000 (1002 Formation/Kobe Line) Eight Car Formation Set & Hankyu Series 1000 (1001 Formation/Takarazuka Line) Eight Car Formation Set Kintetsu Series 5820 (Osaka Line/Rollsign Lighting), J.R. Kyushu Series BEC819-300 (Kashii Line), J.R. Type KIHA110 (KIHA110-200, Iyama Line), J.R. Type KIHA110-200 (Iyama Line Four Seasons Wrapping) & J.R. Type KIHA110 (KIHA110-200, Oikotto) J.R. Series 115-2000 (Sanfrecce Cheer Wrapping Train 2018), J.R. Series 113-7700 (40N Improved Car/Kyoto Area Color/Rollsign Lighting) & J.R. Series 103 (Bantan Line/Old Silver Mine Carriage Road Wrapping Train) Odakyu Type 3000 (3277 Formation, w/Brand Mark) & Seibu Series 6000 Aluminum Body (6158 Formation/After Removal Ventilator) Tobu Type 10000 (11801 Formation/Kita-Senju~Kuki w/120th Anniversary Sticker)& Tobu Type 10000 (11802 Formation/Kita-Senju~Kuki w/120th Anniversary Sticker) Keikyu Type 1500 (Non-Renewaled Car), J.R. Series 113-7700 30N Improved Car Unpainted economy series & a couple of structures I must say I missed the Oykot train the first time round, so I am so gonna get it this time... The Sanfrecce wrapping train is pretty nice, and it's strange GM modelled the 103 series in different livery as 3 separate 2-car consist train with motors! Link to comment

Wonder why they packaged it together? I would be fine with a 2 car set w/o special livery. But greenmax has been on a roll with special liveries. I am contemplating the 113 kits but I have so many other greenmax kits on hand right now. I finally got the tr50 and tr47 bogies for my economy 10 series(joban line). Bogies have jumped in price so I have been selective on what I am building as of late form my stash. Link to comment

maihama eki
Does anyone who has the Kintestsu Blue Symphony have a review of it? I am tempted to pick it up despite the wallet-pain-inducing cost. Would you still buy it after owning it? Any buyer's remorse? Edited November 7, 2019 by maihama eki Link to comment
cteno4
Sheffie did a small one here I picked one up as it was really cheap (well compared to its list price not other trains) on amazon.jp and its is a beauty and runs nicely. Very classy looking and nice rich blue. A quick look at the table lamps appeared that one may be missing as no table there, but I did not light it up while looking and give it much time. jeff 1 Link to comment

Don’t forget to buy some Kato couplers for close coupling. TN is a waste of money on greenmax trains. 1 Link to comment
Sheffie
If I had to criticize the blue symphony, after a fair amount of running, I’d say that the end of the carriages are the weak spot. The couplers aren’t at all close, and there’s no kind of bellows sleeve at all—just a white plastic door. If you don’t mind buying a couple of accessories, then, it’s just a great little train. It looks marvellous and it runs very nicely. 1 Link to comment

Here you go, at 3:29 You still need TN couplers to couple cabin cars together. JC25's from TOMIX are the best ones to do that. But don't use TN couplers elsewhere because it is too close (and too expensive) unless you purchase the "extended" couplers... Edited December 10, 2019 by Yavianice 1 Link to comment
