Snowy arrivals & departures on the Hakushin and Shin-Etsu lines

There's a strange, almost submarine light in some of these snow scenes.

Yes, it happens alot when you have snow precipitation with little wind in mid-day light.  Another factor that adds to the atmosphere is the sound muffling aspect of heavy snow- I love how it blocks out much of the unwanted noise of traffic from nearby roads- though it makes nearby noises more apparent (i.e. footsteps, breathing).  That lash-up of kiha 47's on the deadhead was nice too.

Oh Winter! It feels like February in Eastern Canada.  Thanks for reminding me, time to book my vacation to somewhere warm  :laugh:

 

Thanks for the videos, too bad there isn't one why the train make a big splash out of the snow...though that will make the commuters even more miserable.
