Tilting models

Hello, everyone! First post here for me.

 

I'm wondering if there are any N scale models that tilt their car bodies inwards in curves.

 

(I am looking for something that I can use for a conversion project to make a swedish X2 tilting train.)

The E351 Super Azusa from Kato is another...although I'm sure you wouldn't wish to butcher such a beautiful model....

Apart from being DCC ready, it may or may not be closer to the right size: The cars are 25m at a scale of 1/160 (156mm), instead of 20m at 1/150 (133mm) that you'll get for most non-Shinkansen Japanese trains.

 

How long are the cars on the X2?

Add to that list the 883 series "Sonic" and the 383 series "Wide View Shinano". I think the E351 would make the best candidate for a base as it has a very narrow body compared to the other trains, and used examples are everywhere on Popondetta (and for cheap).

My short lived 883 tilted. Almost didn't want to sell it once I watched it do that a few times.

I've got a fleischman two car German diesel railcar set that tilts, I couldn't tell you what model though as it's a bit out of reach at the moment.

There is a picture of one of these X2 sets on this forum...taken when I was in Stockholm a few months ago. Of all the sets quoted here, the nearest match, in my opinion, is the 383 'Wide View Shinano', especially with the ribbed carriage sides...
