Rice Paddy Scene at Wakayama Electric Railway

Having been on the lookout for a long time for static grass or other products suitable for creating rice fields, I finally got some rice paddies finished today after having acquired a grass of the right colour. Wanting to take some photos, I got my Tama Train out and made a temporary set up of what must be a part of the Kishigawa Line of the Wakayama Electric Railway.

Tama the cat, who is depicted on the train, was Station Master of Kishi Station between 2007-2015 and credited with having saved the railway line and revitalised the local economy. After her death she was appointed Eternal Honorary Station Master and deified with her shrine erected at Kishi Station. These days several "Tamas" hold positions at the railway.

I got use for my river made for 10mm wargaming. The wooded hills were made for 2mm wargaming.

The rice paddies are built on 1.5mm thick plastic sheets, with 3mm wide strips of 1mm thick sheet added on top of it as a "frame". After applying som brown paint (Vallejo English Uniform) I put glue on the "frames" and added 2.5mm medium green static grass from Noch. After the glue having set, the actual rice was planted in the form of 4mm static grass from Evemodel.
