CHANGMING continues to be on a roll when it comes to high-speed mainland Chinese EMUs, with a new announcement for pre-orders for the CR400BF-Z. Comes in both the "Dragon and Phoenix" and interestingly, the "2022 Asian Games" livery found only on train 0524.

Preorder through Taobao following the link below, or through your preferred dealer.

Definitely considering picking up the 0524/Asian Games version. Hopefully they'll follow up with a CR400BF-C for the Winter Olympics livery as well.

Something I let pass, but MicroView is releasing (has released?) a few single soft-sleepers of their 22B passenger coaches.

Sets were supposed to come back around the end of May and then again in August.

Changming will be releasing a new and updated model of their HXD1C (which explains why they were on display at Beijing): some details have been refined, made smaller. The big update seems to be the pantograph which is now made of metal-etched parts.

I'd like to have one of these sets. The age of these coaches match perfectly the era I want to model

I don't have so much experience and background history in Changming models, but I found the pantographs were the Achilles heel of these beautiful models. The switch to metal should be be a great improvement.

The pantograph of the first models would explode in pieces just by looking a them 😁 I can tell you, the current generation is already an amazing improvement.

It makes sense that they try to still improve them to bring them to the same quality as the rest of the model, but at the same time, I don't think it was entirely necessary. They are already on par-ish with Japanese model pantographs.

@disturbman I am thinking of picking it up too (it should be pretty cheap model overall) but i am wondering what is the major difference outside the top details versus the recently released HDX3CA models. The real life model is quite interesting.

The front shape of the HXD1C is rounder than the HXD3C/CA, which is more blocky and angular. The skirt of the HXD1C is also less angled than the HXD3C/CA.

@disturbman Thanks. It looks largely similar and I have want the red themed ones (looks like far away releases) or the HXD1 Shen 24.

That is quite nice detailing and painting on that loco. Pantographs look actually to have a bit more detail to them than most japanese pantographs. They are coming along fast. What is the SRP on one of those?
