"Gradsden Falls".. a large American N-scale layout.

Ok, so "Mt Foo-Gee" isn't my only layout .

"Gradsden Falls" is an American outline layout designed to be able to run those gorgeous long "streamliner" trains

The layout itself is 14.2m long by 1.1m wide, and has two pairs of meandering oval type tracks.

The tracks are totally separated, and any track can run either DC or DCC.

Lots of scenic elements

This is also a work in progress  (I'm retired, so have all my own time) 😉

Rather than all the pics in one post, I'll start at one end and work along the layout.

At the left hand end, we have a country industrial area, with a power station, lumber yard, grain silo, brewery.

This area only needs a little bit of backscene work doing

You can see the top pair of tracks looping around... the bottom pair of tracks are underneath.

Looking along the layout, you can see the set-up yard at the front, and the forested section towards the Falls.

Slight further along, but on the front of the upper tracks, we have a nice little Mexican style Hacienda, with horse training facility. All 3D printed

I still want to print out some formal paving.

"Gradsden" Town is the next feature.

The rear building need painting and the some interiors

Station platforms need to be done.

All building at the front are 3D printed.

On the lower pictures we see the lower set-up tracks

Then unfinished scenery until we get to the right and end (so no pictures of this section)

At the right hand end there is a small oil pump-jack. once I get the controller sorted, this will actually move (has been tested)

The tracks all go underneath as they curve around to the front of the layout, leaving room on top for a farm area.

So, that covers most of what is done at the moment , apart from a couple of little cameos.

I will try to post new pics as work progresses. 🙂

"So does this coexist in the garage with the Japanese layout?"

Yep, one either side with a walkway between.

Have had 8 trains, 4 on each layout running, very noisy ... and great to watch... until something goes wrong  🙂
