The idea is to be able to run trains automatically and drive one manually in the traffic... but I don't want to use a computer. So I decided to develop several electronic cards controlling a unique section (detection, automation and signals). Those cards are parameterized using CV as any other DCC device. A layout is divided in sections, each section representing 2 or 3 zones. A main card is driving the automation sustem. A train is represented by another independant card in which the train is driven according to the signals avoiding collisions... I have several videos to describe the subject.
