bill937ca
In better light today. Still digging in the great Tomix track bin for turnout extension cords and turnout throws to complete the wiring. The Tomytec tram drive without body is running test circuits without problem. The Kato My tram wasn't so cooperative because of low body overhang. The foamboard for the square is in place on the left. Edited October 22, 2023 by bill937ca 5 Link to comment
bill937ca
A couple progress shots of the Kato 43-730 tram stop. It's not glued down as I assess stop locations. It is now mounted on a strip of Greenmax 2138 Sidewalk (aka Paved Road) It would be better without the platform base. I have another 43-730 to assemble and that may happen. But most of the time it will probably be hidden behind a tram or two. Edited February 14 by bill937ca 4 Link to comment
bill937ca
Been awhile since I did an update. After a hiatus I have slowly resumed work on the layout. There is an European block of buildings and a square. I did dig out more Kibri buildings from storage which makes me think more of places like Basel and Prague than when I was using mainly Pola and Faller buidings. bill937ca
Today's discovery. My Kato 7011-4 DE10 runs on Tomix C177 track, in this case tram track. Which means it should run on Kato R183 track. Sorry about the radio in the background. I will ry to re-record later today. Edited June 25 by bill937ca Link to comment
bill937ca
After a long hiatus I have again started running trams. Instead of two layout there is now one Unitram layout on the table with the blue background sheets. I've only just started this layout so there is much to do. The front will be a square with a church in it. There will parked cars in front of the row of buildings. At the other end will be a tram depot or car barn using a Greenmax 2123 train shed. I've been running a assorted selection of Kato trams for the last few days and today it was time to dig out the Bachmann Peter Witts. I ran Peter Witts for Brooklyn, St. Louis, Chicago and Toronto. All but the Brooklyn car ran well after a long lay off. Further progress is awaiting styrene from the LHS. 1 Link to comment
brill27mcb
It's good to give the fleet some exercise, Bill! Any idea what is wrong with the Bachmann Brooklyn Peter Witt? I have one Witt that stopped running, and I am wondering if it is the circuit board (DCC) or the motor. Not sure how to diagnose it... Rich K. Link to comment
bill937ca
I'm not sure. I found some dust on the bottom / in the wheels and cleaned that out. It ran around the layout with assistance. I'm planning another fleet running session sometime soon. Link to comment
