N-Osoi
Inspirational indeed! That paper model seems to be from https://miniature-a.jp/category/products/building/ - I haven't been here long, is there a thread on this company? The stuff looks great (textured roofs!) and he does a great job of weathering it! Link to comment

Tony Galiani
@N-Osoi - you may have seen this but I found a youtube link on the Minature-A site. Here is one of the videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCggzsh9ZBAfYgwpuheBqcrA 6 minutes to assemble a roof - talk about a Zen-like experience. I am pretty impressed. They take international orders so I might try some of these one day. Cheers, Tony 1 Link to comment
N-Osoi
Thanks @Tony Galiani, from my auto-translated page it says they do take orders from outside Japan but it uses CDJapan proxy service. I am fortunate to have a contact in Japan that will allow me to use them as a shipping intermediary so I might grab a kit or two that way. They look beautiful. Link to comment

MeTheSwede
Ghost of KIRA has been expanding into a new part of Tokyo . After 17 year's of work on building an N-scale copy of Ryogoku Station, his waltzing trains have now started to traffic a scenically compressed but very recognisable version of Ochanomizu Station. 7 Link to comment
MeTheSwede
The guy behind the channel Model Train layout M & D recently finished a 1200 x 600mm layout that intends to capture the atmosphere of the area around Kugahara Station on the Ikegami Line, in Tokyo. The layout is computer controlled with the Tomix TNOS system. During the past 4 months he has been posting a number of videos showing showing has he has been building things. Today he released a video that kind of summarises the whole construction process. I think it's inspirational, because it shows layout construction broken down into a series of smaller processes, where each looks quite manageable. I remember thinking how I couldn't possibly build a model railway, but these kind of videos are good at showing how building scenery on a layout is a number of steps, each of which can be a lot easier than they might seem. 9 Link to comment
cteno4
Nice. Does show how you don’t need to be super exacting in many bits to look great. Great process video, does really help folks get past that wall of “I can’t do all that”. for a minute I found something sort of off about the first running video and realized it was vehicles and people were not in the layout yet! jeff 1 Link to comment
MeTheSwede
Yeah, the lack of people and vehicles gives a bit of an eerie atmosphere. Is this the future with ever falling birth rates, or maybe some Godzilla warning have been issued or something? No wait, I think everyone moved somewhere else because of that never ending noise from the railway crossing. I would do that. 😆 2 Link to comment
MeTheSwede
Today I want to recommend videos from the channel Atelier Train (アトリエトレイン) , a channel that I recently stumbled upon. The channel owner is making very detailed dioramas and also posts some videos presenting the works of others. All videos has English subtitles. Here's a Yokohama diorama with various details I've never seen modelled before: Wanna have some wild bees on your layout? Here's a layout built on a 30x30cm IKEA cutting board. It will take me a while to watch through all his videos. Edited October 13 by MeTheSwede 8 Link to comment

Kamome
Kato seem to be pretty in-tune with social media platforms. The material they release is definitely more polished than other manufacturers. This way, get someone who is better at it than you to do it for you. City scape dioramas, namely Shinjuku station and Shibuya crossing were getting a lot of attention at JAM.
