grumbeast
I imagine this is well known about, but I could find it here so http://melody.pos.to/page/jr.htm loads of station jingles in easily downloadable forms! G. Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
Thanks for the link. A good resource, though it may be out of date in some cases- the departure melody is wrong for Tokaido Line platforms at Shinagawa Station (platforms 5/6 and 11/12)- it should be "tetsudou shouka", which also is my favorite jingle (the tune was/is also traditionally used on some JNR and JR limited expresses to lead on-train announcements on departure/arrival) Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
While we're on the topic of station jingles, my favorite in the Kansai area is the Hanshin train arrival melody. "I've been working on the railroad": However, I actually prefer the older version with its less synthesizey ending: Link to comment
Guest ___
There was a CD of all the jingles for sale on eBay. Captain and I talked about buying it, but it never happened. I thought it would be good to rip them, and host them as a modeling material. I have a good number of them I found online and use with my Z-scale layout. Link to comment
ToniBabelony
Taking departure melodies to the next level. The singer of Super Bell"z is also present at the end doing an improvisation on the "do.re.mi. inverter" (Keikyu 1000 Series, VVVF Siemens) motor sound. Stuff like this makes me so happy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UZXl4ODW74 Link to comment
