Peco ss80 viaduct dimensions

I have to make something close in N Scale of this viaduct. Does anyone have this kit. I need the dimension so I can scales down.

OK,

 

So I got in basic dimensions and it fell into place. If I can stay away from You Tube I could get more done.

I cut the double track to a single track. Should have it done tomorrow.

So I got them cut and did the first stone work so I thing its going to be ok.

Need to do the trim work, track form and piers then paint. Gotta quit lolly gagging around.

nice work, simple design with the cut extruded foam! Did you just do the stone work with a ball point pen? Looks really nice and again super clean design and should be robust. going to have to borrow this design sometime!
 

You are going to be seeing stone work overlaid with everything for a few days if you do all those viaducts at once! Kudos!

Thanks, but I'm too impatient for some stuff. Running it on a laser. Spend too much time on You Tube thou. 

Should have been finish long time ago......

Finished the arch and trim. Just going through the pre-build on the mock-up to see if it's going to look right

or not.

Hopefully painting it the right color will shadow right.

so did you use the laser cutter to put the stone lines in the extruded foam? And cut the foam? I’ve often wondered how lasercutter would work on extruded polystryene foam.
 

you could crank these out to sell!

Yeah, Either that or CNC it. It all depends on what it is.

Also its hard to know what people want and if there's enough that warrants the development dollars.

Cool. Just seems once you have the files pretty easy to crank the bits out. Make 1 track wide and folks can just double up for two tracks.

 

i know it’s a bitch to manufacture, market and sell! Just seemed so cool and simple!

I was thinking about your comment before and just updated my paypal.

 

It is cool and simple.....speaks volumes.

 

One client had a Lionel GS4 that kept breaking its gears. Its a $1500 engine that was just sitting

because it kept breaking. I got a hold of it and made a new part for it. He's been running it since Christmas no problem.

I made an extra piece and that's repair money laying somewhere ( I can't find it). 

 

it doesn't make sense.

So, the track is cut in but the trim sticks out too much.

 

From 300+ feet back you cannot see the brick protrusion.

Need to try a different approach.

Wonder about just CNC a whole Plate for the sides in one piece? Then a capstone strip for the top of the edge wall.

 

fun project to watch (ha ha, know it’s a lot of work!).

Can you just sculpt a grove into the foam and inset the wood? Or are you thinking about manufacturing efficiency?

I might have to do that or a mixture. It needs some form of relief. I checked some viaducts and

some of the keystones and arches are recessed in a little or it look so.

 

 

Its interesting what the eye and brain will accept.

So this is the difference in 1.2mm and .37 mm.

 

I think it better. Need to get some paint on it.

Yep looks better. May also be the contrast to the pink foam and the singed edges and look a lot different with paint and some ink wash.

The right combination of colors and wash will make it look pretty good.

It looks amazing inobu. Any chance you could give a brief explanation of how you did it? Did you draw the outline of the stones with a mouse in Rhino or did you cut and paste it? Does the laser cutter cut a 3D texture directly onto foam? I'm intrigued.
