While the old DB TALGO sets rot away somewhere.

I like the way the new sets look though. But WHY does the video show the uncomfortable non-reclineable planks of pain for seats (that can now be found in ICE 4 and refurbished ICE 3 sets) that have been thought of by someone who hates trains and train passengers?

Maybe they're looking at the competition (the airlines) and see how they have downgraded comfort in the name of cost cutting, and thought, "let's do that too!"

Logical next step: trains to stop just outside stations and passengers to walk to the platforms, saving platform usage fees.

I was actually thinking just rolling platforms. No roofs, seats, whatever. Maybe a fence to stop people falling on the tracks and avoid pesky cleaning fees.
