21000 series Urban liner

hey, I was just wondering did Kato ever make the 21000 series (Urban liner) in HO gauge? and how long ago did they make it?

Yes they did. The 6 car set was item number 3-501 but I’m not sure when this was last produced. I have Kato catalogues only as far back as 2009 and I don’t recall it being in any of them.

Annoyingly it’s image is still used on the current HO boxes. They seem to come up occasionally on Yahoo auctions for around ¥40-50k

I have a Kato Catalog from 1992 and it’s on there and price listed at 52,000 JPY.

Endo makes a Odakyu MSE 60000. It's available for $5,380 on eBay from a Japanese dealer.
