serotta1972
Anyone know where this is at? I've sat and watched this feed every now and then and have yet to see a train pass by. Also it looks like it was impacted by the Typhoon as the roads are closed and road work is being done. Thanks, Junior Edited October 24, 2017 by serotta1972 1 Link to comment
Socimi
This is the mount Fuji live camera, on the Tokaido Line. Link to comment
bill937ca
Its Shizuoka City. From this location you can see Mount Fuji. There's no traffic so things must be shut down. http://www.japanvisitor.com/japan-city-guides/city-guide-shizuoka Link to comment
serotta1972
Ah thanks, they have another camera positioned differently and has a nice view of Mt. Fuji but less of the highway and tracks. That's usually a pretty busy highway. What trains run through here? Edited October 23, 2017 by serotta1972 Link to comment
railsquid
That's the Tokaido Honsen, motorway is the Tomei. Surprised it's closed, typhoon is long gone. Google map location: https://www.google.co.jp/maps/@35.070296,138.54127,15z Link to comment

serotta1972
Oh man, footage during the storm and people still driving through despite the flooding and big waves. Start around 1:50. Yikes! Link to comment
Kiha66
I like the car that shows up around 2:15 going south, that gives up and goes the other way Link to comment
cteno4
Wow amazing that building is still there. Acting as a breakwater for the highway! jeff Link to comment

stevenh
There is so much happening in that video... The car that gets stuck in the middle, does a 100-point to come back, stuck again, gets help, does 100-points to continue 'up'. The workers are the best... it actually looks like they're repairing metres of track directly after a wave attacks it! Meanwhile, for more information on the camera location: http://www.jnsforum.com/community/topic/12796-mt-fuji-live-cam-now-with-added-timetables https://modelrail.otenko.com/japanese-trains/mt-fuji-live-view Link to comment
Densha
Imagine the criticism from the trade unions if you were to let railway workers do their work in that kinda weather over here in Europe... even if that means trains probably wouldn't run for at least days after (relatively small) floodings like this. TimWay4
From someone who is lucky enough to never have been anywhere near a Typhoon and who doesn't live that close to the coast, some of those waves look terrifying. I think the worst ones were the ones that cleared the rail lines. Link to comment
