nik_n_dad
Hello. I vaguely remember seeing decals/printed card stock with shop interiors for n-scale buildings, but now can't find it any sites. What do you folks use for store/business interiors? Thanks Link to comment
bill937ca
Some Tomytec buildings have interiors, like the coffee shop of Tomytec 130. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10245595 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10245596 Link to comment
cteno4
The Tomix Lawson's/7-11 had stickers for interior scenes and I think a greenmax may have had a bit of interiors on its sheet, but it's not common. I'm not sure if the model builder software does any interior details http://www.modeltrainsoftware.com/model-builder.html. Most have to just roll your own out of simple bits ans photo printouts. At n scale you can cheat a lot and usually with a foot of distance they eye just needs a few cues to say interior detail and the mind's eye fills in the rest. A few of the free download PDF cardstock printout building I've collected from the web have a bit of interior detail, I'll take a look thru and see what is there. http://www.jnsforum.com/community/topic/5438-papercraft-models/?p=69292 If you google around as many of forums out there for ho and o have a lot of examples of doing interiors with printout bits. Most folks use photos as a start to make their own shelves and such in a store. Just cut up bits of stryene or balsa to glue printouts to or just to the walls or a simple backdrop. https://www.google.com/search?q=scale+building&client=safari&channel=ipad_bm&prmd=isvn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiAyM2uxavRAhVP3GMKHRDeCWsQ_AUIBygB&biw=1024&bih=672#channel=ipad_bm&tbm=isch&q=scale+building+interior https://www.google.com/search?q=scale+building&client=safari&channel=ipad_bm&prmd=isvn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiAyM2uxavRAhVP3GMKHRDeCWsQ_AUIBygB&biw=1024&bih=672#channel=ipad_bm&tbm=isch&q=grocery+store+shelves Other option is to cheat and put the whole scene printout just behind the window. Here is an example from a printout PDF http://www.yoshinaka.jp/papercraft/lawson/lawson.pdf https://www.google.com/search?q=storefront&client=safari&hl=en-us&prmd=inmv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj537jtx6vRAhUN0mMKHb8YDdYQ_AUIBygB&biw=1024&bih=672 It's a debate on how much you can see in the windows of n scale buildings and from most viewing points a backdrop or just a couple of bits may do everything for you! Of course you can go crazy like one of our club members did, you can find some of his wonderful micro details on the forum http://www.jnsforum.com/community/topic/3348-conference-table-with-papers/?p=37532 http://www.jnsforum.com/community/topic/2942-curt-levans-cmr-layout/?hl=%2Bsumo+%2Bcurt http://www.jnsforum.com/community/topic/3018-kamiyacho-layout-photos/?hl=+sumo%20+curt It's funny a number of years back curt got me into thinking interior details and I found an interesting source, 1/144 dollhouse Modelers. Folks build 1/12 scale doll houses for 1/12 scale doll houses then got into modeling at 1/144. Lots of crossover of ideas to cheat on interior stuff. Cheers Jeff 2 Link to comment
bill937ca
With Tomix buildings you will find interior sheets for 4262 7-Eleven http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10421251 4270 Family Mart http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10421253 4070 Lawson http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10051892 4039 Suburban Store http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10014565 4038 Pachinko Hall http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10013037 The 7-Eleven and Family Mart stores were recently re-isseud with up to date graphics. railsquid
I used the Tomix convenience store stickers: and some posters from various other kits. Wish I'd scanned/copied the stickers now so I can use them in the convenience store itself. Still I can always photograph some real stores :D 1 Link to comment

Did you ever make a scan of these? I'd love a copy if you have one. Or if you remember suppliers name. Those look useful. Link to comment

I'm planning on breaking into my Tomytec Supermarket to add lights and re-do the interior. Unfortunately I put it together with superglue so it''ll be tricky. I'm planning on cutting out the floor and making a new one. Link to comment
