Ha, i could hear them across the pond! also knowing the pushover you are for them! im sure grandpa rules for them. love their bleacher section to watch the action. plus their little legs will let them pop in the center on the stool to watch the action from eye level as well! you know how to spoil them!

cheers

Absolutely love it! This is what model railroading is all about. But I don't plan on having kids, so what's my excuse? Haha!

Jeff is right, that's an empire! I love seeing Thomas and Percy there too!

You ve no idea how close to that comment you really are buddy!😂😂👍😀

Lovely shot Paul.

Judging by the clothes and the chocolate treats, this is taken just after school when they are always ravenous and need further entertainment.

I know that situation well!

With all the new arrivals organised on the layout I had a bit of fun running some trains this afternoon.

next step is to sort the station area and platforms.Half the platforms are complete but still in the house at the moment.Need to get a few platform sections to complete then I ll fit them and wire the points etc all at the same time.

appologies in advance for poor camera work.

Did you have any trouble with the Super Azusa running on the inner track? Even after modification mine is...finicky.

YES!! It does nt like the small radius curves at all The middle level is my express line but it derails as it enters or leaves the station area where it’s normal track. Its not so bad on the flat but it’s not entirely happy and occaisionnally derails. Once I get the station area finished I ll more than likely run it on the Shinkansen line up top where the radius is bigger,381/414.

but what a beautifull train?

,so when leaning over to nudge a stalled train I must have knocked the point switches and had a massive pile up and derailment😂

so decided to re site them out of the way.

also made the base for the small freight yard and refinery.

I put together a little time capsule layout video. It can be found on my blog -

Even had two special guests during filming. :)
You can find more updates et al on my blog: https://n-rail.blogspot.com/

I love these videos. I went back and looked at some from years ago and thought, "Hmph! I actually have made some progress over the years!"  :)

Today i got extra stuff to start practicing weathering but I havent decided which Tomix building will be my "guinea pig".

I think I shouldve ordered a cheap building or something like that to work on it.

I think the Tamiya Weathering Master sets are very good for practicing. I do not think that you need those cheap buildings, simply just start to do a little bit weathering with this set, you will see how easy to use. I am also a beginner in the weathering, with the help of this (and the other 3 sets) I could do a more realistic looking on the shops (I think I uploaded this picture here some times before but here it is again):

Those shops look great, I like that these have different "level" of weathering.

Thanks for the good advice.

As I mentioned  in a previous post,I was having problems with my E3,there s a small piece of metal that wraps around the small wheel(just above the pot of glue,) on the motor and contacts with the brass strip that runs along the chasis to the wheels and it kept falling out,so in a last  ditch effort to fix the problem I bought some conductive wire glue. I glued the spring(if that’s what it’s called) to the strip on the chassis last night and left it to dry(the black stuff),.Got up this morning and it seems to have stuck ok and just connected the wires to the wheels and it works fine so I’ve now overcoated it with super glue,as recommended. Will give it an hour to dry then try it on the layout, fingers crossed👍😀

Today was green day for the shinkansens.

pleased to say I ran the two for 25 minutes on 3/4 power and the repaired E3 never missed a beat👍😀.

i ve never used this conductive glue before but it seems to have done the trick👍👍😀

Moved all the controls to the front of the layout to make room for a small freight yard down the Rh side.

Also put the new arrivals on the layout.

A Now very full display/ storage yard.

Wow!  That’s pretty awesome, looks like a place you just want to get a cup of tea and stay running trains for ages!, that’s quite a collection

Changes are coming to my running layout. First it will become a Showa layout once supplies arrive or maybe sooner. I moved some of the Kato buildings to my Unitram layout yesterday. Today I started clearing off the table but as the stuff isn't here I changed the inner track and run some trains. Now the running layout is a R243 stock rail oval and the R280 superelevated oval.  Some extra buildings are back in one corner and used them for  a photo backdrop.

That little spring thing is how they make a connection between a decoder and the pickup rails.  It is made so you can slide the decoder between the pickup rail and that round thing with the spring.  Or not.  And it works in both cases -- with and without a decoder.  What you did should probably work but if you ever decide to go DCC you may have problems :)
