Since I‘ve read somewhere that you‘re a regular customer of Modellbahnshop Lippe you could hit them up if you cannot find the missing parts. I‘m local to them and they‘ve always been very helpful with stuff my club needed

Today I was extending my housing cluster so it comes out to the Moving Bus road town.  I blended the background color.  Then I extended the driveway, added another house, created a better home for the small shrine and relocated the Godown.  The town in the middle  of the layout is now over four feet long on a table five feet long.

Working on the railway museum scene.  Added a balsa walkway which still needs to be darkened up a bit more. The little Greenmax building is repurposed as a admission office. The hand truck is from the Tomytec 098-2 Loading Dock Detail Set.  Coming soon is ground cover.

I guess this was inevitable really but with the continued lockdown set to last for at least a few more weeks and still furloughed,I find the urge of wanting to do something and love of Japanese trains too much to bear!!😂😂

it does nt help when you lot post your progress and purchases.👍👍😀

So not really wanting to buy from abroad at the moment due to unreliable postage services and ridiculous prices I set about looking at what I could do.

Having done the largish, serious type layout and not as much room as before I only want to do a small fun type layout.

so I looked at the compact v sets and what I could run on them. I ve settled on a baseboard 5’x3’ on this layout Plan, same layout but diferent position of station.

outer loop is mainly 216 rad and inner loop is all 150.

First train will be the improved pocket line steamer,a fun little locco that I had the original of but it was rubbish,I m led to believe the new design with the coreless motor is much better plus it’s available from my usual supplier here in the uk.Its nothing fancy but will do to get up and running and until I decide what else to put on there, and I know it ll be here the next day.

so at this point I d like to just give a big shout to Sheffie and all the other members who contributed to the thread about what you can run on these small curves,no doubt I ll be checking it out more than once😂👍

I got the bright idea that I would move the controller shoe rack under the table so I can sit with the controls right in front of me. I unplugged everything. Moved the boxes out from under the layout and then......... drum roll, please!  The controller shoe rack is one piece and doesn't fit.  Baaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

I've got to plug everything back in.  Baaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh! And test it.

After dinner. Maybe.   😧

The past week and a half, I've been whacked with a good bout of vertigo which has prevented doing anything useful, ugh.  Teleconference with my doctor last week got a prescription which has been gradually helping.  Another call with an ENT coming on Wednesday.  But things have improved enough that we spent the afternoon here working together on Phase 1 of assembling the Koki fleet and a pair of engines.  Next phase will be doing some light weathering before assembling the bogies and adding the upgrade pantographs.  Decalling much later when I can focus much better.

Now for a bit of a lie down.  >.<

as for me, well just running sessions this week so far, I have a few ideas kicking around as for what to do next but watching trams go past is surprisingly hypnotic.

So today I ve ordered the wood for the baseboard and will collect on Thursday.

i ve had to alter the track plan as there seems to be a shortage of 183 rad curves. I ve switched the outer loop to 216 rad so altered it to fit them in.

This is the plan I ll be using,

if it all goes to plan and the small trains run ok I ll add in some sidings and a crossover but that’s for the future.

Ordered some bits today and will post in relevant thread when they arrive.

I did push on today and put the stickers on the cars and containers from the small box of Koki 106s.  That was a lot of intense focus doing such tight cutting and placement for tiny ID numbers.  It's hard to say if the vertigo made me more cross-eyed than I would have been on a good day doing this!

The containers that came in this box have separate side and roof pieces, and look much better than the ones from the other sets we have.  I won't bother stickering up the others because they have the big crack across the middle and no detail moulded on the ends.  We already have a good sized, and growing, stack of other brand containers to use instead.

feeling inspired and on a bit of a roll... I started to 'fettle' the Kato tram bodies to fit the Tomix chassis, I will post some pics in more detail and the process. Basically involves removing the roof to take out the light, the fit is not 100% but it does work. the pic shows a partial completed and not started version.

Hi All,

Today I have been continuing the brickwork for the arches at that run along the front of my layout.

Here is a photo, taken in January, of a finished section.

This is an area between Yūrakuchō and Shimbashi. The Yamanote train is on the wrong track, I was only using it to test the track gauge was correct.

Wow, that must have nearly sent you stir-crazy...a man after my own heart! Looks great and well worth the effort.

I would be very interested to see more of your layout.

Wow, thank you everyone for the kind words.

Claude - There have been a few days when I have questioned my own sanity! Seeing the end product helps to keep me going.

Here is a terrible quality picture from the Swindon show I took it to in March.

All those arches are now finished and since then I have added two more boards, I need to make up eight two track bridges to fill gaps on the two outer boards in the picture then I can lay some more track. I may start a thread for the layout next week, the 25th is the 110th Anniversary of Yurakucho Stations opening.
