serotta1972
It is the Kato and yeah it has no lights but it's okay. Link to comment
serotta1972
Running my new Allegra on the R150 Oval - wow, this is very compact. I can most definitely fit more on my 2'x4' table. Now I can see how folks are making these little layouts on such small spaces. More fun to be had! :) 5 Link to comment
serotta1972
Played with the V11 Track Set and ran the Sonics - 883 and 885 to get the full effect of canted track and tilting trains. It was really cool seeing the trains race through the curves and I tried to capture the awesomeness and tilting of the trains on camera but couldn't. Maybe a video would be better. Next time. 4 Link to comment
JR 500系
Great job! The first picture is very nice, that angle is great to show the canting of the tracks. Perhaps place the 885 series on the outer track and the effect will be better, since the 885 has the Kato tilting system that will greatly enhance the tilting effect. Hope you don't mind me posting, Here's my E351 to show some tilting: Do note that I am using normal Tomix viaduct tracks inn tis picture, and we can see the Kato tilting system of the 351 vs without of the 651. 3 Link to comment
serotta1972
Both actually have the tilting mechanism so it was redundant having the canted tracks. :) Nice pic - I hope you have lots of pics of your old layout. Edited December 1, 2016 by serotta1972 1 Link to comment
serotta1972
I just added the Double Plate Track Set to my track collection. It looks very cool especially with the double catenary poles set up and will put the fences on there too once I cut them off their sprue tree. I love the look of ballasted track and this is as good as it gets for me. :) 5 Link to comment
serotta1972
My first electrified setup with the double track plate set. And I have some new inhabitants on a test run until their own track arrive. 5 Link to comment
Pauljag900
Love the trams, are you going to use Kato or tomix tram track? Link to comment
serotta1972
I ordered the new Tomix tram tracks with grass and bricks. I was going to wait for the track before running the trams but I couldn't resist putting them on the track and running them. Link to comment
serotta1972
JR East Commuter Trains running session and a visitor. The visitor - I found my Western Pacific RDC's. Are these things really selling for $159 nowadays? http://www.ebay.com/p/kato-106-3014-budd-rail-diesel-car-rdc-western-pacific-2-cars-set-f-n-scale/1200092116 4 Link to comment

serotta1972
I got mines over 10 years ago and I believe they were being closed out and paid about $60. Were they re-released? Link to comment
ToniBabelony
Those Kato double track plates look really nice... Maybe I should get a set to use on T-Trak modules. Saves the bother of ballasting and the line side details. Link to comment
serotta1972
They are quite nice looking and I plan on getting more straight pieces but unfortunately I've only been able to find the 186 mm and 124 mm ones but I'm sure you won't have any finding them in your neck of the woods. :) Link to comment
serotta1972
Can anyone take a wild guess as to what the theme is for tonight's running session? My 20+ years old TGV represented well and ran as smoothly as the young ones. :) 3 Link to comment

serotta1972
That was too easy - one of my many train fetishes. Anything with orange and I actually have others that I didn't bring out. Your prize will be sent out to you in January. :) Link to comment
JR 500系
Central Liner! Nice! Is that the Taiwan TRA train? Always liked it's cute shape... something like the 885 series. Maybe the theme for the running session is: "Railway police on season holidays? " :P 1 Link to comment
serotta1972
Hey JR500, Can't wait to add the Tomix Central Liner to the fleet. If I'm not mistaken, the TRA train is based on the 885 Series. Haha, Railway Police are on a permanent holiday in my model train world. Edited December 19, 2016 by serotta1972 2 Link to comment
nah00
My 20+ years old TGV represented well and ran as smoothly as the young ones. :) When I bought one of these second-hand (most likely third or fourth-hand) I was pleasantly surprised to find that after a few minutes of running it was smooth as can be. serotta1972
Just received my Tomix Brick and Grass Tram tracks. The grass track doesn't photograph well, it looks much much nicer in person. I'm patiently waiting for the brick oval sets. I actually had to pull out some modeling tools tonight. It's so great how everything fits together nicely. I even had to splice a Tomix Track Connector with a Kato Power Pack Connector, I earned me a few modeling points tonight I think. :) 5 Link to comment

JR 500系
Looks great! I've yet to open mine, but I think the tracks look great! It will be nice variants to the usual boring grey tram pieces.... But if placed beside the tomytec moving bus pieces it might look pretty strange... Link to comment
