Maibara Station documentary- before the shinkansen

Good documentary from 1963 (Showa 38).  Mainly centers around activity at Maibara Station, then as now an important junction between the Tokaido and Hokuriku Lines, the latter dominated by steam locomotive hauled trains.  Loads of railway scenes we no longer can see- shonan color 80 series, long bonnet Kodama trains, SL hauled passenger trains off the Hokuriku Main Line, parcels traffic...

Shooting a tank car with 9600, I laughed there.

If this was shot in 1963 the Shinkansen roadbed and station should have been visible. Yet the only thing I saw was the poster on the wall near the end.

Around 1:23 in the aerial view there is evidence of a shinkansen viaduct on the right side of the screen (which would be the western, lake side of the station area- ).  The Maibara station zairaisen platforms back then were located further east (closer to the hills) of where they are now.  Given that the shinkansen platforms are not highly elevated and probably the butterfly canopies had not been installed yet, any construction work would probably not be conspicuous enough to show up incidentally.

The shinkansen network was opened in 1964, so this film was released one year before the shinkansens started to run and it was probalby shot earlier, just before the old station was remodelled to make way for the shinkansen tracks. Considering the speed of which the first line was built, this could have been filmed around early 1963.
