  1. Hello there, i am new to this website, so if i posted this in the wrong place please let me know. For my school's final project i wanted to create a small replica of a maglev train, and i was looking online to see if anyone ever did this. Sadly i only seemed to find very small and not good looking projects, till i found takara tommy's 2015 project and the Aichi firm's 2020 one, which were exactly what i wanted to recreate. Unluckily for me, the takara tommy's one is sold out and the Aichi firm's project has been suspended. Does anyone here know of any kit/premade product that i could use? Or if there isnt, can anyone help me create one? here are the links to the two projects i mentioned: https://www.asahi.com/ajw/articles/13696482 https://newatlas.com/takara-tommy-linear-liner/39600/
  2. Seems to be a dispute between JR Central and Shizuoka Prefecture about the impact of tunnel construction on water levels in the Oi river. https://tetsudo-ch.com/10397075.html

  4. After having spent a few months in Sri Lanka and India travelling on around 100 hours of trains, my wife and I were starting to think that we were getting bored of trains... 😲 We just finished a month in China and wow this is something else. We took a 14 hour bullet train from Shanghai to Chengdu and it was so comfortable that the time flew by! Even the "Slow" trains are pretty comfortable, clean, air-conditioned and very cheap. I think China is really an exciting place to explore train travel! Can't wait to see if the mag-lev will actually get built! I want to get on that as soon as it's ready! Do we think they will actually build it? Or is it just showing off?

  6. Not much coverage in the domestic media, perhaps they are waiting for the results of the test on the 21st of this month (next Tuesday). http://www.railjournal.com/index.php/high-speed/japan-breaks-maglev-speed-record.html
  7. The president of JR Tokai, Mr. Kouei Tsuge, on Monday stated that a routing of the Hokuriku Shinkansen from Tsuruga to Shin-Osaka on eastern side Biwa Lake routing of the Tokaido Shinkansen via Maibara would be extremely difficult given the congestion of existing traffic on that line. Also, the desire among Kansai business interests to have the Chuo Shinkansen (maglev) route from Nagoya to Osaka opened concurrently with the Hokuriku Shinkansen extension was deemed outright impossible by the president. http://www.sankei.com/west/news/150707/wst1507070037-n1.html
