  1. Sanyo Dentetsu will introduce new rolling stock within the fiscal year, the first new units in 15 years. Designated the 6000 series, the aluminum-bodied rolling stock will consist of a total of 6 units, in 3 two-car formations. They will be capable of being used on both local services and incorporated in direct limited express rakes. The carriages will be 18.9m long, equipped with VVVF inverters, LED lighting, fully enclosed PMSM motors, and interestingly, a braking system that prevents flats on wheelsets. They will be manufactured by longtime supplier Kawasaki Heavy. http://news.mynavi.jp/news/2015/05/20/638/
  2. Here is a revival color that I like, and that is basically identical to the original livery, and on rolling stock directly descended from the original type that had it. Kintetsu Minami Osaka Line, 6000 series. Occasion was a special train promoting an animated film DVD release: This rolling stock with this livery was nicknamed the "Rabbit Car", not for being high speed, but rather having high acceleration in local services, to enable fast runs between stations on the Minami Osaka Line, threading paths between the express and semi-express services, which were in the hands of older (axle hung motors?) rolling stock. The original 6800 series that had this livery no longer run on Kintetsu Lines, but refurbished examples are used by the Yoro Railway. Here are a couple of photos I took of one in the revival colors at Ogaki:
  3. Uploader of these is, I assume, the Sagamihara municipal government. This is their 'town info' kind of thing from April 15, 1990. Coverage of the then-new Hashimoto Station starts at 2:33. Waiting rooms were non-smoking from the beginning, seems quite forward-thinking to me. In another episode of this, from November 1984, locations along the then-JNR, then-unelectrified Sagami Line are featured. At the time, the line had KIHA 35s, tablet safeworking, and apparently some manual and spring switches.
