Container ops are boring?

So I've found that it's a 30 ton model built by Kyosan (協三).  Other than that, not too much.  Don't they build signal hardware?

No, it's a different company, based in Fukushima.  Their products are small diesel locomotives, small steam engines for theme parks, bridge cranes for industrial use, and bridge structures, among others.

I don't see any containers being drilled directly to the siding?

Well, that's exactly what JRF is doing...dropping container cars at Mizusawa's siding, from where their own switcher positions the cars for loading/unloading.

Notice that they still practice "Stuffing" - loading containers directly on the cars, although most containers seem tp be loaded/unloaded at a pad.

Cheers NB

Sorry but when I refer to drilling, it is the use of a drill.  I'm trying to understand the term in relation to loading and unloading containers from flat cars.

Shunting?

You've got it Noob, drilling is a word the Americans use for shunting.  A way freight is what we call a shunt train, or in other parts of the English speaking world a pickup freight.
