JR 500系
Another long overdue post, sharing more imports One from Ami, no trains, just even more buses ~ 🙂 One from Mandarake, couldnt resist the Tozan as i rode on it, and the painting reminds me of Switzerland, a very beautiful country which i visited and loved ~ These HO scale vans are pretty nice! Love the colour scheme on this one! Would prefer the two car set, but this was available and finally i get to complete another colour that limited express trains Kintetsu has! Final two from Rokko, one from last month: And one from this month hot off the delivery man ~ Finally got my hands on the elusive MUE Train! Thanks to a very helpful Masaharu san! A little mishap, no biggie, but VERY VERY rare as Rokko packs their trains super well. It was some thing that they couldnt foresee and wasnt due to improper handling or packing, the bogie was just too loose to begin with ~ 10 Link to comment

The tag line was “Made in Dream” which might be slightly grammatically wrong, but English is often used as it looks cooler. I really liked this campaign. Definitely generated a lot of excitement and I don’t recall any other shinkansen introductions since that had quite the same impact. Here is the N700S Kamome launch poster. Some others say “Come On Kamome” https://www.sogohodo.co.jp/ooh/14518/ I always wonder why large Japanese corporations rarely get their English checked. Thankfully this has created a sub-culture of “Engrish” spotting. Thanks, Kamome, for posting this. Made this today. Dave Edited October 23, 2022 by Dave K Fix spelling. 7 Link to comment

Tony Galiani
Here are some pictures of the items I just received from Sakatsu Gallery. 4 books and some detailing bits and bobs: fencing, vending machines and such. Super fast service and nicely packed - each book had its own protective wrap. Hopefully tons of inspiration and ideas inside each one! Tony 10 Link to comment
katoftw
How did you find their shipping costs? High / low / acceptable? Link to comment
Tony Galiani
It was US$28 for Fed Ex and US$40 for DHL. EMS was higher but I do not recall the exact price. Based on my recent experience, these prices seemed reasonable. They aren't great but this seems to be the way things are nowadays. And the super fast service helps. Ciao, Tony 1 1 Link to comment

I think the "mythical" ones are the Tomix made ones. This is the Kato Version. Still costs a Kidney and your Firstborn sadly ye. Link to comment
E233 Series
DHL Express just delivered the Odakyu Romance Car 50000 VSE (Last Run Edition) from Tomix that I preordered in June. I really like the design and packaging. 11 Link to comment
Martijn Meerts
Well, been a while since I (pre-)ordered anything, but after a couple of visits to @roadstar_na6 club and running some trains, motivation to work on my own layout has slowly been building up again. And with my focus now being mainly JNR era and lots of steam, I decided I needed some more trains: Several Tomix C55s Tomix JNR Soya main line local passenger coach set Tomix JNR Hokkaido freight car set Kato Iida line Kumoha52 Kato SL Hitoyoshi Kato D51-200 Yamaguchi Kato series 35-4000 Yamaguchi World Kougei C51 247/249 Tsubame kit 6 Link to comment

Option is to have an intermediate delivery in Jan 2023 for the 3 first items of the list. Edited November 2, 2022 by JR East 1 Link to comment

JR 500系
The trains and buses kept pouring in ~~ A small parcel from Ami, with some of my fav transport ~ While those Popondetta buses do cost a little more, the light features is pretty interesting, and it's great Ami is reducing the prices on these beauties One of the best wrapping any retailer could have done, caring for the items like it's their own! The E129s are pretty nice, now i'm thinking if i need one more of the 2-car set just to fill up the case 😛 The GM 311 series are pretty neat, albeit expensive. They do come with exchangable front coupler assemblies so you can change either a Kato or a Tomix type to couple with your existing 313 rolling stocks ~ Didnt know how i missed the 521 series 3rd edition, that had a different face the the 2nd edition. Am glad Rokko still has them in stock~ 6 Link to comment

railsquid
Some bit's'n pieces from the Kato shop: in part to fix up this other recent-ish purchase, which was suffering from a damaged diaphragm connector but otherwise in excellent condition: Kato E4 series Shinkansen "Max" by Rail Squid, on Flickr Not something I really needed but I was curious about the unusual driving mechanism on these. 5 Link to comment
katoftw
Nothing major. Shipping and taxes was 60% of total cost. Yay. 3 1 Link to comment
