I haven't done any posting for ages. After much waiting long time, I've ordered MicroAce EF 58-61 to increase my Imperial fleet. Also ordered NYK 2210 (20ft containers) as well.

Bought myself a TNOS system to play with from our friends at Rokko.

 

Will do some extensive testing on it as a non-japanese speaker and european/japanese train modeler and report back in a separate thread probably. I blame @defor for pushing me to the edge. 😂

How does it run? I’m waiting for my seven car set. I’m sure HS will mail it soon. (They took my money on Thursday)

 

update: it was shipped today. I’m hoping to see it within 2 weeks (ePacket Light)

Motor unit is a tad noisy compared to my older Relay Tsubame 787. Hopefully a little lubrication and some extensive running will fix that.

 

I’m impressed that this has all new molding including the newer asymmetrical window arrangement. Generally a very nicely represented model with a lot of very tiny details that could have easily been overlooked.

 

I do like these units and living in northern Kyushu, I frequently see these on 6 car Kirameki services.

Came home to find not one but 3 packages from Japan waiting for me in the kitchen....next to them was a very angry wife. 😉  I told her that's what she bought me for Christmas....lol

Everything below is from an AmiAmi sale, except two packs of Kato Roundhouse 28-188 close couplers from RG Rokko (forgot to include them in the picture). The third box was from Hobbysearch which had no train stuff in it, just some 1/100 Destdroid models from Macross.

Honestly, I don't know. I am a DC guy right now. I tested them and than ran great. I guess I could open one up and see if I can figure out what decoder they used?

If you pop off the shell and take a picture I can probably figure it out from there. Just be careful around the front, it's easy to knock/bend the hand grabs and uncoupling lever.

I do really like the fact that special color of the 900 has the 90th anniversary logo-

Does anyone know if the recent Orange/Red 2019 rereleases have this logo too?
