cteno4
Nice haul Tim! They all sound like reasonable prices and when you factor in the cost of shipping (especially on the track) it was a good deal and you got to look at it before buying and like you say support local sales of Japanese stuff. Sounds like you can now do a large viaduct loop to run trains on! It works well on the floor as the tracks are not on the ground and schmutz issues. Also the double viaduct track is very sturdy and puts up to abuse and irregularities in the flooring. have fun! jeff Link to comment
Drunkenclam
Got some stuff today, to go at the end of my local line. The station platform set is just to extend existing. 7 Link to comment
railsquid
The Tokyo Metro Tozai Line fleet continues to expand, this time with the addition of a MicroAce 07 series: MicroAce Tokyo Metro 07 Series (Tozai Line) by Rail Squid, on Flickr Found at a fairly sane price, due to some cosmetic issues with the power car which don't stand out unless you look closely, and which can probably be easily fixed. 10 Link to comment
JR 500系
Havent been posting for a while so here are the arrivals: First up from MTP, the lovely Pokémon with you! It's really cute!! Next up is from Ami, the extremely beautiful (and expensive) Blue Symphony, and the much awaited Truck collection 12! And yes I got the special truck too! Much amazing is that the 'uncoloured' version that came with the case, also came with the railway wheels on the excavator ~ It would then be better NOT to have the secret variant if you get the case, since technically the excavator is also easily available... Cause having the secret meant giving up the roller... I really like the dump trucks though... they are really VERY detailed, and looked very beefed up, much more than their previous dump trucks versions... Now to find that Yellow Roller to complete the set... Edited September 18, 2019 by JR 500系 5 Link to comment
cteno4
Woaaa Sammy the super special! I’ve only gotten two of those unpainted and clear versions in all my vehicle sets (I don’t want to admit him many I have...) It is a hard one like what will do with this on the layout and painting will be a pain... maybe sell off on yahoo.jp! I know my pearlescent 280z was going for a lot there just after release, like twice the price of the whole set of a bit, but that was at the height of the Tomytec vehicle set craze. jeff 1 Link to comment
nah00
July order that I forgot about, nothing terribly exciting. I wish the guidebook had more maps and pictures but it does squeeze in a lot of info. The rollsigns are for the Takisaki 211 series from Tomix. Kind of don't like the fact they only give 8 of each sign, it's kind of nice to get an extra in case you mess one up. Edited September 19, 2019 by nah00 5 Link to comment

Unfortunately in the process of trying to move house, so the track has just gone straight into storage 😞. The C62 set ran well, and was a little surprisingly a big hit at the club when I took it down for testing. The Camera train had some issues, I could only get the app to connect briefly, but there was an image there, so I know the camera works, I just need to spend some time looking into what I was doing wrong (there's bound to be something) to get it to connect to the app. Really happy with my purchases and they run well, so all is good 🙂 On a different note, my micro z-gauge layout is due to turn up tomorrow 🙂 Link to comment
Fenway Park
My Pair Hands YO 9000 kit arrived from HS. This uses the Kato new YO 6000 as the base for the brass sides and hangers and axle box bits. Apparently there were were two of these introduced in Kyushu in 1968 to work with the new higher speed wagons. They then went to Hokkaido. I knew nothing about these vans. So I presume the HS translation is accurate. The kit kit contains two sets of decals, one is a yellow band which I thought meant the wagon had a restricted top speed as with the Seki 3000/6000 etc as well as the Sera 1s. Now in the to do pile. Welshbloke
If the camera app uses wifi then check whether your phone is set to automatically search for a stronger Internet connection. That could cause it to dump the camera link (as there's no Internet access there). I think the GoPro app on mine specifically advises to disable that setting for this reason. 2 Link to comment
nah00
Get an Amazon.jp account I thought. What could possibly go wrong I thought... The Eizan Kirara is way out of area for me but for some reason it grew on me over time, plus it was on sale. I've seen most of the layouts in the 50 Layout Plans book but it's nice to have them not on a computer, one thing about it is that it really makes you wish Kato did a curved turnout. The other book is more introductory than I thought but has some neat scenery ideas (using empty plastic drink bottles as support for scenery is genius) and lots of pictures of the techniques used. 11 3 Link to comment

Interesting, that might be why it would only work with an older phone for me. Meanwhile I went to Akihabara and came home with a bunch of junk, in anticlockwise order: a pair of intermediate 103 series cars to expand a Tomix 4-car Yamanote line basic set an intermediate E353 car to expand a Kato E353 series 4-car basic set some side destination stickers for the Tomix JR 209-1000 Series (Chuo Line) set a whole bunch of Revolution Factory detailing accessories Edited September 20, 2019 by railsquid 7 Link to comment

shiniji
Hello Guys :) Here are the models that have arrived the last days. Unfortunately, I have pre-ordered too much at Hobbysearch again 😅 8 1 Link to comment
Welshbloke
The Casco 12 slot case in Shonan livery arrived: Cue shuffling of other stock into the two Kato seven slot cases it replaced (which had a couple of extra 165 Series cars in as well as this). 6 Link to comment
railsquid
Finally found a Kato Chuo-Sobu Line 201 series: Kato 201 series (Chuo-Sobu Line) by Rail Squid, on Flickr at a very reasonable price, because according to the seller: - it came from a pet-infested household - the lights don't work so I was half-expecting the mechanism to be clogged with hairs and I will replace the lighting units anyway, but apart from the usual wear'n'tear on the cardboard sleeve it was as good as new, and the lights started working once it had run a while (not a materials expert or anything but I suspect the metal contacts oxidise or something after a long period in storage and the mere act of running the train freshens everything up). 10 Link to comment
Claude_Dreyfus
Just back from a couple of weeks in Japan and Malaysia, making full use of the the rail pass for the Japanese part. The options for shopping were a little limited time as well as space in the luggage; however I did take the opportunity to drop into Poponetta in Hiroshima. Only a couple of bits, a MicroAce EF67 2 (I saw several EF67s stabled at Hiroshima) and a set of Tomytec cars. The 'Hello Kitty' series 500 forms part of our general Tourist Tat haul. We took the 730 Kodama from Hiroshima to Osaka on this very unit. This souvenir came from the train itself...which has a very pink shop in carriage 1. I also bought a couple of Tomica vehicles - a taxi and Hiroshima tram. 9 Link to comment

Welshbloke
I did find a video of someone browsing an Akiba junk section, unfortunately I didn't press subscribe so I've not seen it since. Was mostly a case of me shouting "I need that one. And that one. And those!" at the screen though... Link to comment
