Gryphr
I think this is most likely an EF15, I'm not sure about the model maker though. The models shown on HobbySearch don't have blank Front/Rear wheels, so I suppose this is a pretty old model. 1 Link to comment
railsquid
Possibly an Endou model: https://naop.at.webry.info/201207/article_7.html Link to comment
Claude_Dreyfus
It has been a while since I have bought something Japanese, however the realisation that my Hobby Search points were about to expire prompted me to go shopping. I have fancied something from Worldcraft for a long time, as well as a small shunter. The perfect candidate made itself known to me, and was duly ordered... The photo doesn't really do it justice - it is a really cute little engine. 17 Link to comment
Sheffie
Is it ever possible to have too many trees? In the spirit of scientific enquiry, I have ordered another 54 assorted trees and a few more bags of ground cover foliage. 2 Link to comment

My only criticism of a good number of amazing layouts that I see on this forum are, “needs more vegetation” but maybe that’s just what I see everyday in Kyushu. 2 1 Link to comment
chadbag
Tropical and sub-tropical tend to have a lot of vegetation. Anywhere with a lot of rain. So you cannot go wrong. Most of Japan fits that bill. Utah on the other hand, is brown, except up in the tops of the mountains (before you hit the tree line). Most any green tree or green bush you see was planted by someone. Link to comment
bill937ca
Two orders combined from HS. Micro Ace A7571 Okakyu Rommance Car Type 60000 MSE. 4-car set. Tsugawa scenery mat Sankei kit Tamiya Finishing Paper and some cleaning swabs. Still two more trains to come. Edited May 6, 2019 by bill937ca 7 Link to comment
keiichi77
First Japanese train order in along time but now my Hokkaido fleet is closer to completion. If it wasn't for Rapido trains eating up a huge chunk of my model train budget for 2019 there would be much more Japanese trains, but I love RS18 locomotives and Rapido had to go and announce them for release this year, including #3842 which I actually had a few cab rides in. The only other Japanese train I have on order is the Pokemon Kiha100 😉 . 5 Link to comment

Drunkenclam
Yes. That's what I did on my first layout attempt. Glued the shrine to a removable board for access into the tunnel should it be needed. 1 Link to comment

railsquid
I have veered a little off the ranch with this Rule 1 purchase, but I find these old EMUs hard to resist, particularly when they've been chopped about a bit 😄 Kato 80 series KuHa85 by Rail Squid, on Flickr 7 Link to comment

Is it a trick of the light or are the gears on the left hand bogie black plastic? Link to comment
Drunkenclam
Postman delivered this today. Unfortunately arrived after wife gone to bed so I have the kids again. Should be the last bits of track I need. 5 Link to comment

The one driving the bogie is brass. Runs smooth. Not bad for $40 Link to comment
katoftw
Not sure what this counts as. Re-order??? But My JRK DE10s and Phoenix buses and Maya34 turned up in Tokyo today. HS are resending them to me. They originally sent the on the 28th of Feb. Were return to HS due to not being picked up at post office. Weird since it was a SAL package and I didn't get a request to come to the post office. But almost three month later, the package was back in Tokyo. Lucky. The JRK DE10s and Maya34 aren't on the easy to find list. Would be awesome to see the packaging to see the stamps that have been stamped on it. Would give a history of the package's travels.
