Kiha66
My 50 series coaches finally arrived! I was getting a little worried that they had been lost in the mail. 10 Link to comment

I'm going to get the replacement roofs with separate vents, and I'm trying to track down the special tight lock couplers Kato offered for this set. The only problem is some of my locomotives look cheap compared to them! I think I may order another four, just so they don't get lonely... Edited January 23, 2018 by Kiha66 1 Link to comment

Kiha, i ve got to be honest,it was the colour that struck me!ha ha but as you know that’s the reason for me buying most of the trains I do,because of the way they look. if I m completely honest, there s not much about any of it that I do nt like.😂😂😂 (the purists will crucify me)😂😂😂😂only kidding buddy. how many did you buy? And what you pulling them with? Anything in particular? Edited January 23, 2018 by Pauljag900 1 Link to comment

I bought them cause I liked the look of the red cars behind the stainless steel EF30 I have, but they look great behind a dd51 too and now I'm finding myself tempted into getting some red JNR electrics! I bought four, but they look so good I'm tempted to just keep buying more... Edited January 24, 2018 by Kiha66 10 Link to comment
Fenway Park
Superb models but luckily for me beyond my cut off point on 1975 in Kyushu. They were last used in commuter services hauled by DD51s from Noogata to Wakamatsu. I think Micro Ace made a set when the coaches were withdrawn. Tomix released the ED75-300 last year, while Kato offer the ED73-1000. The EF76 is made by all three manufacturers. The earlier Kyushu red electrics EF72, ED74 were made by Micro Ace. 1 Link to comment

I also got some more TN’s which the grey ones will be used on the Koki 50000’s when they arrive, the black ones will be used for my Hoki 800’s which I should be giving some long awaited attention too soon. I should have waited to get the light blue Seino containers from Hogarakadou, they look a lot better than the Platz ones. 1 Link to comment

They are slightly different variants, the Hogaraka Dou versions are U30A's whilst the Platz ones are U30B's, both have got differing details such as side doors on the U30B's and slightly different liveries, the light blue is also more pale on the Platz U30B's but I quite like it as it has that sun bleached look that is more typical of the real life versions. JR 500系
Finally updating this as I haven't gotten a parcel for sometime now... and the cpu is dying up on me... Small little parcel... but boy am I surprised! That little Balast machine is so cute and looks so nice! The low speed motor is great and runs really smoothly and slowly... Perfect! The interior lights is a very nice touch, only complain is the plastic is a tad too thin and we can see light coming through the train body... Other than that, I am very happy I pre-ordered this! Surely looks good sitting in the yard and coming out for maintenance once in a while! 11 Link to comment

Kamome
Just taken delivery of the Kato 14 series Noto sleeper train. (10-1438) I didn’t quite have enough for my fleet of EF63s to do and this gives an alternative to the EMU and DMUs. I already had an EF62 assigned to freight as I had no relevant coaches for it. I’m a bit of a sucker for the blue trains and noticed the first page of Kato’s 2018 catalogue had a nice display. Looking forward to Kato’s new release Seto/Asakaze with the SuHa 25 300 power unit. Ami Ami prices can be way too attractive for both N and HO which makes it difficult to resist. 5 Link to comment

Do these ones come with the bodymount couplers? Not that I need an excuse to get an pair of EF63, but this would be a good one... 1 Link to comment

nah00
Found this hiding at my local hobby shop. No box but strangely the rerailer was still with it, not a huge deal since I have an empty box from the H5. $50 later and it has a new home. I'll eventually get the 3 car add-on but seeing as I just got the Hokkaido Shinkansen I'm not in a rush. Funny thing is is that I used to HATE the E5 but it really grew on me over time. tt0880
Wooh, I can finally contribute to this thread! I love reading and seeing what other people get, so I thought I'd chime in too... My first package from Loco1hobby arrived today! You could, of course, just read what's on the invoice up there, but here's a picture of the contents instead: I was so excited to get this package, and I'm super excited to run the train. I just wish I could get over the current hurdles I'm having with my layout so I can get to the fun... But I know it will come :) I also have another package on the way from Modeltrainsplus, and I'm also super excited. I was really impressed with the Kato 10-1290. That third car, the double decker, is super cool. 7 Link to comment

I’m quite interested in getting this myself because it can be configured for a special Hakkoda service from the early 1990s. I caught the standard service a couple of times around then. The standard services had no sleeper cars, though. Link to comment
Suica
Today I had some time to take photos of recent purchases. Kato KiHa 81 series Hatsukari Kato Train Suite Shiki-Shima MicroAce Shinkansen 922-10 Doctor Yellow Tomix 485-3000 series Hakucho from lighthouse! I already have the MicroAce version, but I always found the Tomix model to be quite desirable. 9 Link to comment
railsquid
I seem to be falling down the rabbit hole of modern freight... Kato EF510, acquired cheaply as a non-runner but boxed with all bits'n'bobs complete and nothing a bit of cleaning and oiling couldn't fix.
