For 6,150 yen new, who could say no?  The Hankyu trains (6300, Kyo, 9300) by Kato were on the list to buy in the future, but jumped on this at this price.  Guess I'll start collecting Hankyu trains a little earlier than predicted.

So mr or mrs Ami Ami put the 4 car add on up also in the sale section for 36%, really 28% off @ 4550.

My first order from Loco1 arrived today with my Tomix Kiha 281 expansion set.

I also received my order from HS which included;

Kato curved bridge set (green)

2 Kato curved bridge single spans to expand the bridge to make a 90 degree turn

an additional pier set for the extra spans

Tomix coupler springs and coupler pocket covers to replace ones I lost or killed converting my Koki's and Hoki's to TN couplers.

The curved bridge is beautiful, I had to rework my entire track plan to fit this bridge in but it was worth it, now I just have to built it. ;)

There's a menacing and aggressive look to this Shinkansen that sets it apart from it's brothers and sisters IMHO.

I always thought it looks a bit disdainful

Not exactly Japanese ("Made in Austria", I have a weakness for these locos from my time in Berlin) but purchased for a pittance, relatively speaking, in the ever bounteous Tenshodo Evergreen store.

Non-runner in the shop, a little TLC and as good as new :D

Nice purchase, Squiddy. My Roco BR 243 sure needs a few Halberstädter (DR Green or Städteexpress colour though).

From your time in Berlin you might be familiar with my latest purchase as well~

A nicely detailed model from a small manufacturer for a great price (as far as western model prices go).

Huh, the Minitrix T3 was my first loco way over 40 years ago (though it was all black). Memories...

Well I guess they made a green one too then... I am not well versed in the whole german railway history and especialy not the modeltrain one lol...

I still have one of the little Minitrix ex-LMS dock tanks (same chassis as your T3). I found they have a tendency to rock around the rear axle, mine bounces up or down depending on which direction you run it in too!

This is a great set!

By the way do you, or anyone, know how limited this one is? Where and when it was up for purchase?

I mean, it doesn't even have a Kato Catalog number.

It's more than 3 years old.   http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10276382

Looks like it was issued by East Japan Railway Trading Company.

Hi mate are you referring to this set?

http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10067410

HS has one of the most extensive range of N scale modelling stuff around!  :)   Of course there are also many other online retailer friend's stores like MTP or Loco1. You might wish to check out the retailers thread for more info ~

Yes that's the one. it was wiped out so quickly back in 2013, and I recall there was a re-run for this order back in somewhere 2015? It was the best re-run ever and it was closed in a matter of days...

Now I DO see why... The set is gorgeous!

There's a coincidence, a couple of days ago I ordered three of the items from Tomytec Railway Collection 20 which I hadn't been able to get anywhere else (Kumoyuni 147-1, Kumoni 143-5, and Kumoha 123-5).

Also ordered a couple of powered chassis, will order a third and the pantographs when they're back in stock. Oh, and Kato Kumoyuni 82-800s (power and dummy) and a Saro 163 should be on the way!

Two EMS orders from Hobby Search.  One arrived and was held at the post office. The tracking marks the bigger order as delivered but not to me, without a signature and is missing. This has never happened before.  I've searched around the building, but no sign of it.  I'll report it to Hobby Search tomorrow (per Canada Post instructions) but there won't be any action until they get back from Winter Holiday in 2017. Smaller order is a couple of Tomytec items and some items from the tools section.  Bigger order was Tomix track to finish the layout and 3 B-Train Shorty boxes plus a book.
