What did you order or the post deliver? (Japanese N Gauge)

Not ordered, but bought in Stuttgart at the N-Scale Convention, from the Dutch N-Spoorstore.

Superelevated tracks in the V14 set, it will be handy to play on the floor at home. Beside of that signals and the necessary accesories as I would like to use them on the next Japanese T-trak module. There were some trains from Kato (mostly Glacier-Express as it was a European convention), but those were not cheap compared to the Japanese prices.

For 6,150 yen new, who could say no?  The Hankyu trains (6300, Kyo, 9300) by Kato were on the list to buy in the future, but jumped on this at this price.  Guess I'll start collecting Hankyu trains a little earlier than predicted.

Katoftw - a sale and a moment of weakness is all it takes.  When those 2 factors align - I'm in trouble and it happens quite often. :)

Just won two Tomix curved points on Yahoo! Auctions for the price of one. Now owning four in total, I think now I can safely build and interesting layout. No more 'big' investments in rail pieces are needed any more (for now).

From an Ebay seller in Taiwan who seems to have some sort of back-channel to Chinese factories, this very fine British Coronation Class 4-6-2 locomotive, the original of which spent some time in the USA and which is now part of the British national collection.

I'll match your maroon Duchess of Hamilton with my green one.  Did you get the accessory bag with the loco from that seller?  I've heard that it may be missing when you buy from them.

Nope, this was advertised as unboxed and came wrapped in bubblewrap inside a spectacle case. Mind you it didn't cost me much more than a 2nd hand Kato 4-6-2 would so not complaining, also I have yet to ever actually do anything with the contents of one of those bags... I've bought other stuff from the same source boxed with all the gubbins. With British stuff I've found that paying the going retail price for new British models shipped from the UK is a mug's game - every single model I've bought online which wasn't 2nd hand or "otherwised sourced" seems to have failed in some way, and it's an expensive PITA to ship them back under guarantee.

Can't fault your taste in locos. The 8Ps are very quick and capable engines, and yet very easy on the fireman.

Cheers,

Mark.

Decided to buy a pair of R541-15 Wide Track curves and a pack of Tomix 3003 concrete catenary poles. I probably will get two more packs of poles (variable multi-track and modern steel ones) to compliment them. Next to that some more hard foam boards which immediately were put to good use:

My package from hobby search arrived!  For the price of a train I got almost all the track for my layout, plus a few freight cars.  Still debating on getting the kato automatic crossing, anyone have experience with it?

No piccie, but for various reasons I decided recently my life would not be complete without an E351 Super Azusa, so obtained the cheapest one going on Yahoo Auctions, it turned up today and the lot number revealed it dates from 1996... Optically perfect condition, all parts present and correct, the power car ran like a bucket of spanners for a brief while but is now nice and smooth and it tilts into curves and it sticks to the (provisionally laid) track like glue. As one would expect from Kato... Damn they do make some good stuff.

For years I have also considered my life not to be complete with the same train, but I have been able to refrain from getting one because I really shouldn't be getting into Chuo Main Line trains...

That said, after a certain rather ugly experience with Yahoo Auctions I had a while ago, I'm glad things turned out well for you going for the cheapest!

I would like to read an opinion from a JNSforum member also.

I brought one off YJA with a double track expansion set. Haven't run trains through it yet as just testing. Although I have added another 2 tracks to it.

I just bought one (Kato Crossing 20-652) couple days ago, hopefully it will arrive tomorrow! With the current exchange rate, it was $130 USD shipped from Amazon JP. Not bad considering Amiami is selling for 14540 yen before shipping.

Today I received the wide tram track that looks like grass and the new cobblestone look.  The grass is not like it looks on the box but once in place looks pretty good.  I just laid it over current track to take the picture.

Mainly stuff from the recent HS sales, and some more stuff for the growin trams collection (darn).... @ 1000 yen, that hospital is unbeatable.... It's a modular design hence multiple sets can create even more variety of stacking!

Not much to report today. A small box from Plaza Japan. Now if some one can box time and send it to me I'd be happy
