ToniBabelony
No, these Hankyū 6300 front cars are really sold separately at the Kyōto shop: http://www.katomodels-kyoto.com/ (scroll down), as are a few other Kyōto area related train cars. 1 Link to comment

Kamome
My wife's sister is staying with us for the month and brought with her a Hankyu train from the Kato store Kyoto railway station as well as the Kato catalogue Any thoughts on if it is part of an extended set or a one off? I don't know too much about the Hankyu models. image.jpg On my recent visit to the Kato shop in Kyoto, they were selling the driving cabs for the Hankyu 6300, 500 Series shinkansen and 281 series Haruka as a sort of display item rather than a running set. There was a big focus on small shelf-top dioramas in this store rather than large running layouts. I think Kato have done something similar before selling a model of the cab end from a 481 series that is on display in one of the railway museums. 1 Link to comment
Suica
I think I've never posted anything from a train before. Well here I am writing from on board an ICE. I spent a few days in Munich and came across a really nice model train shop called "Gleis 11", inside Munich Station, right at the end of... well, Track 11 (Gleis 11). They just received a big load of used models and let me browse through them even before they did. I was able to pick out some good stuff and the price was even better. :D Kato C57 Tomix YO-8000 And some German Stuff: Minitrix DB BR 120, Fleischmann DB BR 103, Minitrix DB baggage car & InterRegio coach Edited November 19, 2016 by Suica 7 Link to comment

serotta1972
New to me via trade with JR 500 :) Tomix 92051/2 253 Series and Tomix 98941 165 Series "Moonlight Echigo" I already own a Kato 253 Series but really like the design and livery of this particular train and this is the only semi contemporary train that Tomix produces in its HG range. The 165 Series is a nice addition to my Tokai Type Trains collection and oh man, this is my first train with after market LED interior lights and it's really nice. The only lighted trains I have are some Kato Trains, actually one of them is the 253 and the other is the Kiha 85 Wideview from about 15 years ago that had them pre-installed and they are not all that bright. 9 Link to comment
Drunkenclam
I brought the 3 car add on set for my moonlight echigo. Just love the colour scheme. A nice buy 1 Link to comment
Das Steinkopf
So today my long awaited order from Ami Ami was delivered, Australia Post can take credit for making me wait longer due to failure to deliver at my place yesterday despite having it logged for delivery and then redirecting it to another depot. Included in the stash is a KiHa 25-1000, UM14A containers and tarpaulins, 30D's, some Tomytec Chassis to power my Keihan Otsu Lines collection and finally Kato's curved girder bridge. serotta1972
My E3 Shinkansen Fleet is now complete with the arrival of the Kato 10-222 E3-1000 Old Tsubasa Color. Found this on Ebay the same day as the 883 Sonic Series and both were in the Unites States. 9 Link to comment

Rod.H
Well, I finally got around to sending Nariichi/nartak some money and joined the Tomix wide/fine track brigade, with the CA-S pack, a right-hand switch and some 140mm straights. With two DMU's I didn't really see much of a cant, though that might be down to the length of the train and the briefness of the curve. And behold a Kato to Tomix power cable adaptor does exist:Yeah, it's just the Kato power pack to anything lead bare ends pushed into the Tomix socket. However the most important item in the package was one of his last copies of the Kato Roundhouse Tohoku EmotionYes it's outside of the area I've chosen, but it's a Joyful train, perhaps it's on a chartered trip. I still have to add the details, the extra stickers, the interior lights (didn't know what set to get) and some passengers. For a while this train was causing me a bit of grief, as in the full set form it kept on derailing on a curve and adjusting the track did zilch. Drop a carriage or two off and it was fine. I eventually worked out why it was derailing, the couplers didn't have enough range of motion and there's a physical toggle that limits the coupler movement. 4 Link to comment

The Wide Track seems to be the coming thing in Tomix track. They are adding more and more items to this line, and it can serve as elevated viaduct track, too. Very flexible, and if you double-track or make a yard it looks better than normal model track, since multiple tracks are ballasted from one edge to the other. Rich K. Link to comment
bill937ca
Miscellaneous Tomix track items including Wide Track Walls, S70-WP, S33-WP and S18.5-WP track sections, Tomytec A2 factory, the new Tomix 3237 Concrete Arch Bridge and a couple of 5813 DC feeder extension cords. Lots of stuff to help me create the layout I want. Link to comment

I mainly got it due to pre-ordering the new station set (http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10411292) and I wanted to see how the system works. I'll be certainly getting some more wide track in the future. ToniBabelony
Wide track surely is getting to me as well... I was a bit sceptical about the new lineup from Tomix, but it's actually pretty good and tempting... Link to comment

With two DMU's I didn't really see much of a cant, though that might be down to the length of the train and the briefness of the curve. First thing you have to do with the canted curves is place the 22.5 degree half curve pieces on either side of the 45 degree full curve pieces. The half pieces are the transition into and out of the canted curve. In the package they sit on top of the other curve pieces. Each piece is marked on the bottom CL280-22.5 or CL280-45. keiichi77
Not a big order but I had a few items arrive from Plaza Japan today. 2 packs of Tomix 0375 TN couplers for my Microace Nankai Rapi:t (bye bye rapidos!!!) 3 cheap train DVDs for the upcoming annual train movie night at my railway club (Esashi Line, Twilight Express and Hokutosei) 3 Kato Green Deck Girder Bridges to go with the curve bridge set that I didn't order..lol Kato Guardrails (white) and finally a box of HO scale Kato Catenary poles for an HO diorama I am hoping to build to display my only Japanese HO train. I worked out which curves went where (the CL280-22.5/45 & CL317-22.5/45), it's just that when compared to the Kato unitrack used on a local club's exhibition layout the cant wasn't as noticeable. It could be down to the 8-car train length they use and being able to stand at a point where you can look down a long straight and watch a train enter and leave it by a 90-deg curve that made the cant more noticeable than what I'm getting with a 2-3 car long trains going around the 45 deg & 135 deg curves that you get from the quadrilateral produced by the CA-S set.
