What did you order or the post deliver? (Japanese N Gauge)

Bachmann's legacy is a good reason to buy Japanese.   :angry9:

Generally agree Bill, but their later models such as their newer 4-8-4 J steamer and very recent Berkshire steamer are on a totally different level, mind you so are the new prices. The Berkshire IMHO has one of the best sound systems I have heard in an N scale steamer! The HHP-8 have been around a while and I noticed a few years ago , that Model Train Stuff were heavily discounting them and wondered if they had issues.

I didn't want to, but I couldn't leave them. Two curved Tomix points (left and right) at the BookOff in Machida. Brand new in packaging, but cheaper than at the cheapest place (Yodobashi), so I decided to get them. I'll only need one more and then I think I'm done investing in rails for a very long time. Oh no, need two more reliable points and some counter curves... DURRRR xD

What's more exciting than having a parcel arrive at your door step?

post-819-0-37407600-1476783038_thumb.jpg

Why 3 parcels at one go of course!  :)

Amazing they came altogether, although I shipped them out like a week apart from each other... this made the 1st parcel slow in delivery and the last one mighty fast...

First parcel contains:

New comer Kyoto Tango Railway, KTR 8000, Tango no Umi and it's usual KTR series! Along with some telephone towers...

The Tango no Umi looks just fantastic! It is because of this guy that the KTR made it to our roster fleet, and I don't regret this at all! The graphics and coloring are fantastic!

Parcel 2, we have:

2 buses from the All Island bus collection, and the long anticipated Vista-Ex!

The buses look great as usual, especially the Kokusai Koygo bus featuring the new Isuza Erga!

The Vista-Ex is just great, and that front exchangeable destination sign makes it even sweeter... The front cabs come with TN couplers ready for connection! That's why Kintetsu made a close 2nd in my favorite Private Railways! (1st being Odakyu)

Parcel 3:

Tadami Line Kiha 40 (never miss a painted train!) and the Resort Shirakami HB-E300~

post-819-0-47240200-1476783350_thumb.jpg

The original livery Kiiha 48 looks good, and is the motor car with both driving ends, means it can be driven alone. The painted one needs to be connected to a driving car as it doesn't have a motor and has only one end...

And the long awaited Resort Shirakami! Kato did a good job with this one, easily outshining and making MA cancel their long pre-ordered ones.. With the front car being the motor car, we can surely expect to see more variations of the Resort trains such as the Furusato and the Asunaro!

I think you may have received my parcels, can you check the address? I'm waiting for the Tango No Umi, HB-300 and Vista EX to be delivered along with the 101 and 102 telephone masts.

Your photo's make the wait even harder I really do like the Tango no Umi, great colour.

I just can't get into these overwhelming designs like the Tango no Umi and the reddish KiHa40; the original liveries are much better. The other KiHa40 and Kintetsu train are very nice though!

Hi Dave - Great minds think alike eh?  :)  We have almost the same order, but the address is correct on those parcel boxes~

The Tango no Umi's blue is really nice... it's a nice deep blue... The photos don't do the train justice... The Tadami one, well, the graphics are nice and neat, and the original livery is nice too, so I thought might as well get it. That Vista-EX is SUPERB though, even thinking about getting 2 sets to make a 8-car set! The front is really nice with the lighted boards and all...

@ JR500 - Gosh, some of those trains look very familiar.  No layout, more trains and buses I see.

Haha yeah I think great minds think alike surely ~ No layout but I am still buying trains... kind off strange... I don't think I'll ever get a chance to run them all though... they got to wait till I retire to a larger home in another country then...

Revolution have just opened their order books for the class 92; designed primarily for hauling Channel Tunnel frieght, but also used for a number of purposes including the Scottish sleeper trains.

I have a suspicion none made their way over to the Chuo or Shinonoi lines, but there may be a minor deviation from reality now and then... By the time they arrive my layout plans may have actually become reality!

Took a while, but my Hankai Tramway MO161 arrived today!  A beautiful model for the price, I really should pick up a power unit for it.

Currently in Japan and like many others on this thread recently, just picked up the Kato HB-E300 along with the Kure Line C62. I visited the quirky Kato shop in Kyoto yesterday. It had some very Kyoto-esque ways of selling kato products with a very traditional feel. Very small but worth a visit if you're not going with a long shopping list from the catalogue and want some new display ideas. I found some spoke wheels (Assy parts 28-194) so my EF10, EF15, D51, C56 will all get an upgrade from the clunky front wheel supplied.

Interesting haul! What is that tool clipper up on the upper right?

Are those working signal lights there in the lower right? Would love to install these working signal lights on my layout! But at 600 yen a piece it's quite costly to build a simple T-intersection with like 3 of those signal for cars and 6 of those for pedestrian...  (6+3 = 9 x 600 = 5400yen)

At that price they certainly work. Fortunately for my finances I only intend to use them where they'll be visible viewing the layout from the normal viewing position, so basically only one side of each junction/crossing.

The "tool clipper" is one of those adjustable magnifying glass stands with a couple of clips for holding things in place, and also a soldering iron holder. Very handy for detail work.

Delivered a few weeks ago.  But I didn't know where to put this.  Ran my 285 Sunrise Izumo for the first time today.  It is quite an imposing train with it's taller than normal size.

While I'm not generally a fan of modern/futuristic trains, if Kato were to produce these or the 787 and 883 series in HO, I'd buy them without thinking twice. Very sexy trains! :)

Cheers,

Mark.

Indeed... that was why I finally pluck up enough courage to finally order a Kyushu train... The 885 series is too beautiful, shape, style, colouring and a tilting mechanism to boot surely didn't help to resist... I also credit Serotta1972 san for his display of that beautiful 885 series in his layout thread that has helped to push me over the limit...

Anyway I also ordered the 800 series which is also a Kyushu train... That's way I am getting very worried about starting trains on Kyushu island....

Darn...

I can only blame myself and my state of stupor to order this:

Darn...  I certainly hope this does not spell trouble for Takahashi town to step into the land of no-return....
