What did you order or the post deliver? (Japanese N Gauge)

Yesterday, I decided that it was time for a few more tracks, so I headed out and bought a circle of Rokuhan R195 curves. These look great with my narrow gauge trams and in this, much larger radius, all rolling stock runs through smoothly. No matter the consist configuration.

Also, I picked up a Tetsudo Collection 22 box and got a Okayama Rinko KIHA 5001! Just one of the models I wanted (any, except for a JNR model would have been fine though).

A simple, but atmospheric setup :)

I have both of the Keihan Keishin 800 Series EMU's, in fact 8362 was the very first N Gauge train I bought and is what got me to switch to Japanese trains, I was in Tokyu Hands Shibuya store when I saw it and thought there could be no better momento of the time we had spent in Otsu than this model.

I kinda have to get the other one to complete my Keihan-Otsu Stock lols... and maybe some day gonna get the "Japan Only" ones too....

Nariichi still has one in stock and Dave has two which is surprising as MicroAce trains tend to be difficult to find a year after their release especially the more exotic ones.

Brought a bag of woodland scenics fine cinders.  Run into a it by mistake while in a toy shop with the kids.  Can mix it into the greys to make a ballast match for kato/tomix.

My East-i made it in from Hobby Search today! I'm actually liking this model, since it's microace I didn't think it would be as detailed as it is.

This is a really nice Shinkansen, NB1231! I've seen the model live and really liked it.

Though,

since it's microace I didn't think it would be as detailed as it is.

What do you mean? I usually find MicroAce models very detailed. They have other problems though.

I guess detailed wasn't the correct term, but more like cost-cutting issues? Idk some of their models arrive new with issues so I guess that's what I mean. Not so much detailing but more like issues with the train itself.

MA makes great shinkansen models, if not, arguably the best. They have produced highly detailed models like the 300 series and 0 series, which are very highly sought after, especially the 300 series...

The only issue I have with them is the pricing... Which is soaring at the moment... And the next issue is with their release dates which they never seem to keep and will suddenly cancel off without warning...

The East-I is a beautiful looking train, and trademark for JR East as it's inspection train. I really like this one as it can also travel on conventional lines (as in the term mini shinkansens) and the overhead lights look great!

I've never owned an MA shinkansen model, so that's why I was saying that. Their 300 series looked nice but the extreme rarity causes the prices to be even above tomix and that was a no no for me with tomix having the power couplers. MA isn't lacking in detail but I've noticed more people tend to have issues with them straight out of the box before they do kato or tomix. The East-i is a really wonderful model, I wasn't taking away from this model but I will say if tomix or kato released an East-i if would take it first.

Yap... Beautiful model... I was just appalled to see it on HS bargains section...

I think they brought in way too many, looking at the after-market sales value before the re-release, and realise they couldn't sell them off fast enough...

Yeah, it's a desirable model (I love mine!), HS just bought too many I guess.

I wasn't that appalled about it bargain binning, though, since the yen is stronger now than it was a couple months ago when the East i was re-released.

Speaking of Shinkansens and Bargain Bins - my new Tomix E3 Nasuno arrive today from HS.  A couple of solo pics and then with her sister the E3 Komachi.  There are some subtle differences such as the different color pantos, of course the Komachi symbol and what sets them apart are their finish.  The Nasuno has a flat white finish and the Komachi has a glossy white finish.  I really like it and so glad that I got it, it was too hard to pass up.  :)

It's my first complete Tomix Shinkansen set and I really like it.

Serotta, I wouldn't mind your Komachi. It'd go nicely with that 200 series. :D

I have a lot of MicroAce trains, and while it's true that at times they have issues out of the box, they're usually minor issues. The most common I've had is a bogie that came loose, but easy enough to clip back in. I've had the same happen with both Kato and Tomix though.

One of the best looking shinkansen I have is MicroAce's Dr. Yellow (A0496). It runs great and looks great.Rapi:t is a beauty.

Acquired through a trade with Suica a Micro Ace A1150 1000 Shinkansen.  Beautiful model, thanks Suica!

Mine is NOT a Shinkansen.

I received my third Odakyu Romance Car set today.  I've had the 1000 HiSE for many years.  Got the 7000 LSE about a year ago.  And received the 50000 VSE just now.  The new one has been on order for the whole year, and it's finally here.  I think that this completes the whole series.

I decided to up my stock in the N narrow rail department. Recently got an R195 Rokuhan rail set (8x R195-45 and 4x S110), ordered a few counter curves for my points (R127-26) and won a Yahoo! auction of a ZJ Real tracks (24x R195, 8x R220, 4x S220 and 2x S110), including a compact controller with feeder cable (which I really needed).

Aside from points, I'm quite settled for now, regarding N narrow rails :)
